How to get there

There are good links from both the M5 (if driving) or from Barnstaple Station (by train).

By car: approach Barnstaple from the A361 (links with the M5) and then take the ring road round to the south - following signs for Braunton. Then take the A361 again to Braunton. At the main traffic lights in Braunton turn left signposted Saunton and Croyde B3231. Further along this road you will get your first glimpse of the sea - my kids never tire of 'who can see the sea first!!'

You will go passed a large hotel on the left called Saunton Sands Hotel - has Jacuzzi and wonderful massage/beautician area.

Around next headland (about 0.5 to 1 mile) you will see Croyde bay in front of you. As you drive into Croyde there are traffic calming narrow sections of road. Go passed the Unison holiday park on the left and we are 2nd or 3rd left after that (immediately after Bonicott Lane) Please be aware that as you turn into Leadengate fields, the entrance to Leadengate Close is almost the same turning (Leadengate Fields is the left hand of the ‘fork’) thus you are turning approximately 100 degrees, so some people like to go beyond the turning, turn next right into Bay View Farm and then double back on themselves. Hope that makes sense.

By train: the train to Barnstaple runs from Exeter station every hour on weekdays/Saturdays. From Barnstaple train station take the bus to Barnstaple bus station (or walk) 5 mins, then take the connecting bus to Croyde (approx 35mins), or we can order you a taxi.

Getting around

Walking is the best way to explore. The North Devon Coastal path runs just 0.3km from our front door, to the north around the National Trust owned Baggy Point which is a wonderful walk for all ages. You can try a trusty steed and go horseriding, or you can explore the wonderful Devon countryside either viewing many childrens attractions (wildlife parks/The Big Sheep/Milky Way etc) or you can visit stately homes and open gardens. Ilfracombe boasts a Damien Hirst statue Verity, and there are cinemas in both Barnstaple and Ilfracombe. Easiest to take the car if visiting further afield than Croyde/Braunton.
