How to get there

The Peninsula cottages are ideally suited to those travelling without a car as everything you need for a full and enjoyable self-catering holiday is available within a short (5 to 10 minute) walk from your arrival onwards. Fantastic views, boat tours, gift and souvenir shops, department store and supermarket, pubs and restaurants. For the more active, day boat hire, canoe and cycle hire, and of course, free fishing. Norfolk enjoys an enviable position in a quiet corner of East Anglia, only approachable from the South or West (and from the North)

By car: All major routes need to connect to the Norwich ring road, and then follow a common 7-mile local road to Wroxham (see below)

From London and the South.

M25 to M11 towards Cambridge, and take the next junction (J9) 15 miles after Bishop’s Stortford onto the A11 to Norwich. Approaching Norwich cross the A47 and continue into Norwich until the ring round and turn left onto it. (then see local route below)

From the West & North:

Join the A47 at King’s Lynn (gateway into Norfolk) towards Norwich and leave it at Norwich Showground, A1074 and head towards Norwich City. At Norwich ring road turn left onto it and then continue on local route below

From Norwich ring road: (local route)

Follow the ring road and take the A1151 (brown Tourist sign to Wroxham) approx 8 miles to Wroxham & Hoveton. After crossing over the railway bridge and mini roundabout, on entering Wroxham, take the second right turn into The Avenue. After about 100yds take a left turn into Staitheway Road and follow this down towards the boatyard. At a sharp right bend carry straight on into the private signed “Peninsula Cottages”. Follow the road to the left to the boat crane. Park by the automatic barrier. walk through to the cottage and use your key-safe code to get your key and barrier fob to give you access to the secure parking area.

By Train:

Use your own chosen mainline route to Norwich Station. Then use the Greater Anglia local route towards Sheringham, just 2 stops to Hoveton & Wroxham Station. Peninsula Cottages are about a 15 minute pleasant walk. You start to see the cottages from the bridge.

By Coach / Bus:

Take your own chosen main coach / bus service to Norwich Bus Station. Then from St Stephen’s Street just outside the bus station take First Eastern Counties No:14, Neaves No:32, or Anglian Bus & Coach No:123, local bus services to Wroxham, alighting just after Wroxham Bridge at Roy’s in the village centre. It is then a pleasant 10-minute walk past the Broads Tours ticket office and over the bridge.

Getting around

Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is within an easy walk. There really is no need for a car. You can take a sightseeing river cruise from just a few minutes walk from the cottage, or a nostalgic steam train on the Bure Valley Railway. for the kids, visit the Minatureworld model, Bewilderwood adventure park just minutes away. However The Norfolk coastline is also within a 10 to 20 mile car journey, where you can visit the seaside towns of Gt. Yarmouth, Cromer and Sheringham. There are also many quiet sandy beaches. The City of Norwich with its famous cathedral and castle (dungeons) is only 7 miles away and you can get a bus from the centre of Wroxham or take the car and park at the Park-and-Ride as you reach the City.
