How to get there

Chideock is on the A35 which is the main coast road. The village is about 3 miles west of Bridport and is part of the Jurassic Coast.

If you are travelling west on the A35 you will have come around Bridport on the by-pass. As you enter the
village you will pass the George Inn on your right. Soon afterwards you will pass the Central Stores shop on your left. As
you begin to go uphill there is the turning on your left signposted to Seatown.

If you are on the A35 and coming from the west you will drop down the steep hill from Morecombelake. Just
before you reach the bottom of the hill you will see the Clockhouse pub. Turn right and we are 20 yards down on the right.

There is space for one car only. Guests should not reverse into Duck Street - you will be able to turn the car around on the drive. If guests are bringing two cars or expect visitors during their stay we ask that additional cars be parked a short distance away; just 100 yards or so if you turn right out of Midlands Farm. You can also park in North Chideock, just the other side of the main road and just after the church. The local shop also allows parking for £1.00 per day.

Getting around

A car is useful for exploring the surrounding areas: West Bay, Bridport, Abbotsbury, Dorchester and Weymouth heading east, or Charmouth, Lyme Regis heading west. If you prefer not to use your car then there are plenty of walks you can do from the cottage including to Thornecombe Beacon and West Bay, and Golden Cap, Charmouth, Lyme Regis and beyond. There is plenty to entertain you if you chose not to use a car at all in fact! There is a bus service which travels in both directions too. The nearest train station is Axminster and Crewkerne. For the cyclist there is now a hire facility in Bridport.
