It is completely up to you how you would like to get around, as for tourists, you can get tours to take you into the park at an additional cost and then there may be no need for a car. The town is within walking distance of the unit and it has numerous restaurants to help you enjoy the night life as well as grocery stores etc. A walk in town is a lovely idea to get to know the area. Please be careful walking at night as the hippos come out to feed, they will not harm you if you keep a safe distance. This is an amazing site to see, you may be lucky to see our complex resident hippo in the evenings while you sit on the patio at the unit. Please do not approach the hippos. If you have your own vehicle, you can enjoy the area in your own time.
