Arriving along the A591 from the M6 - turn left into Windermere, travel along through Windermere for approx 0.5 miles. Goodley Dale school is on the right with Windermere Police Station on the left just after Craig Walk. Beresford road is on the left approximately 250yds after the police station. It is number 10 of the row of cottages, approximately 2/3 along Beresford Road.

There is a direct link by train from Manchester airport to Windermere. The station is a 5/10 minute taxi ride or 25 min walk away. The 597 bus goes from Windermere train station in a circular route down through Bowness village.

Getting around

A car is helpful to see further afield but there is lots to do without one. Aside from what is listed above within walking distance, the ferries across lake Windermere are a 10 minute walk away and go to Ambleside, Haverthwaite and Brockhole with connections to Wray Castle. The Ferry Nab Ferry ( 15 minute walk) goes across the Lake and there are walks/cycle paths both to Haverthwaite and Wray Castle. Bicycles can be hired within the village and there are numerous cycle ways around Bowness.The 555 and 599 buses stop in Bowness and connect to Ambleside and Grasmere.
