In the small village of Assafora you will find within walking distance a supermarket with a wide range of products, an authentic Portuguese butcher and a pharmacy. Several local cafes and restaurants can be found around the corner. In addition, Assafora is surrounded by the attractive beach of São Julião and the impressive cliffs with view over the Atlantic Ocean. João Jungle also offers good bikes, which you can rent for half or the whole day. There is a bus connection (no. 443) from Asssafora to Ericeira (and vice versa) and from Assafora to Sintra (and vice versa) every half hour. However, we suggest the best way to get around is by car. Lisbon Airport and area offer plenty of fair priced car rental lots.
