Part of a tastefully renovated, pretty stone cottage, this light and spacious accommodation is situated in the heart of the beautiful rolling Gascony countryside. It is set in a large mature garden, with superb unspoilt views of the surrounding countryside, and splendid views of the Pyrenees to the South.
The accommodation is at the end of a no-through lane, with no passing traffic and no near neighbours. It is attached to the owners property but is completely self-contained, with its own entrances. This is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing holiday away from it all, yet the pretty medieval village of Marciac, with its assortment of interesting shops and restaurants, its theatre, cinema and lake, is only 3 minutes’ drive away.
Guests are welcome to fresh seasonal produce, at no charge, from our own kitchen garden and fruit trees, all of which are grown organically. Bustling markets with fresh meat, fish, fruit and vegetables can be found every day of the week at any number of local villages.
For music lovers, the property is perfectly placed for the prestigious Jazz Festival in Marciac, when the whole village is alive with restaurants, bars, stalls, exhibitions and performers, and the plentiful parking is free of charge. The nearby villages of Mirande and Vic Fezensac host a Country and Western Festival and a vibrant Latino Festival.
For wine lovers, there are interesting vineyards and tastings in this wine growing region, and the area is renowned for its Armagnac, foie gras and duck dishes.
For the more active, a large, open-air swimming pool and tennis courts can be found in Marciac. There is an 18 hole golf course at the impressive Pallane Chateau 10 minutes' drive away, with reasonable green fees and a good restaurant. Fishing opportunities are plentiful in the nearby rivers and lakes, or simply enjoy the unspoilt natural beauty of the region by bike or on foot.
For excursions further afield, this is an ideal base for trips to Spain, the Pyrenees, Lourdes, Biarritz or Spain.
The accommodation is fully double glazed and consists of a large, high quality kitchen, a comfortable dining/sitting area, a modern shower room and separate toilet, all on the ground floor. Stairs lead up to a spacious double bedroom on the mezzanine. Patio doors on the ground floor lead out onto a large covered terrace, with table, chairs, sun loungers, and barbecues. Bicycles, a table tennis table, darts and board games are also available.
