From the owner

Riad Al Janoub is an ancient merchant's house that has been lovingly restored in an elegant and contemporary Moroccan style. The 4 stylish and comfortable bedrooms are arranged around a courtyard with palm trees and a beautiful mosaic fountain.

All of our rooms are decorated with hand carved furniture, rugs, mirrors and ornaments sourced from the souqs of Marrakech.

All bathrooms are decorated using traditional tadalekt with hand beaten copper wash basins and beautiful Moroccan lanterns.

The roof terrace, with its orange trees, has a large covered seating area and 3 sun loungers - the perfect place to relax in the sunshine or enjoy a candle lit dinner under the stars.

Our housekeeper and chef, Amina, is available to prepare excellent local cuisine with fresh organic produce from the markets, which can be served to you in the dining room, by the open fire in the lounge, next to the fountain in the courtyard, or by candle light on the roof terrace.

We have 4 beautiful bedrooms, each one named after a colour in Arabic and decorated accordingly. "Urjuwani" (Purple) is our master bedroom with a double bed and open-fire place. "Ahmar" (Red) has a double bed and a stunning hand-carved mashrabiya window. "Azraq" (Blue) has a double bed and a single bed and is ideal for kids or a small family. "Bunni" (Brown) also has a double bed and overlooks the terrace. All bedrooms have an en suite private bathroom, with air-conditioning, hairdryers and iPod holders.

Off the courtyard with its small mosaic fountain, we have our salon and our dining room. Our salon has an open-fire and comfy cushions - the ideal place to drink mint tea and relax. Our dining room has a wide-screen TV and DVD player - perfect for kids (and tired adults!) after a day in the souqs.

Our beautiful roof terrace - unlike many others in the medina - is entirely private, not being overlooked by other riads.

With its orange trees, sun-loungers and covered seating area, it is ideal for sunbathing, sun-downers or dinner under the stars.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Carolyn (the owner) a message.

If Carolyn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
