Hodi Hodi means 'Knock Knock! May I enter?' in the Swahili language. It is also a new boutique beach house development on Zanzibar's pristine Matemwe beach.
Comprising three beach houses with a total of 7 double, twin or family suites, Hodi Hodi is designed for the single independent traveller looking for tranquillity, or groups of up to 14 people who have something to celebrate.
Price for a double room is $195 per night B+B.
Price for a family suite sleeping 4 is $260 per night B+B
Price for a villa sleeping 6 + 2 kids is $650 per night B+B
All rooms are sea-facing, en-suite and only a few paces from the cool, white sands and warm clear Indian Ocean. The suites have private sun terraces and room for children. No air conditioning but large windows are designed to draw in the sea breeze. Due to a natural offshore lagoon, the sea is swimmable at all levels of tide.
There is a small pool with a cocktail island, and a bar restaurant serving fresh, locally sourced food.
We are on a quiet stretch of beach with very few tourists, and set amid lush gardens offering both shade under the coconut palms or sun beds on the sand.
Hodi Hodi is the perfect spot to relax in Zanzibar.
