A cheerful house above the lake

This comfortable, cozy cottage is located uphill from Meina, a peaceful lakeside town on the western shore of Lake Maggiore. Casa Allegra is not on the lakeshore but is located above the lake and the village, and therefore enjoys magical views of the lake and the mountains beyond.

Casa Allegra is laid out on two levels. The house is furnished in modern style and cheerful colors. Floors are tile and large windows provide great views of the lake. Outside there is a small manicured garden and a panoramic swimming pool.

Meina is less than 1 km away, with shops, services, restaurants, and a sport center with tennis and pool. Meina has a ferry connection to the other lake towns and islands docks. Arona is 4 km south, 10 minutes by car or bus. From the railway station of Arona Milan can be reached by train in one hour. Switzerland is just half an hour away, the two popular Swiss towns Bellinzona and Locarno at the northern shore of the lake can be reached easily by speed boat.

Just 20 km north is the elegant town of Stresa. Stresa calls invitingly to visitors: the Belle Epoch is now covered by patina, and the plaster is crumbing off the walls but to this day Stresa still exudes the elegance of a fin-de-siècle bathing resort. In the 19th century, the little town on the west shore of the lake was one of Italy's noblest spas.
