Location

The house is ideal for two persons to enjoy a romantic atmosphere in one of the best areas in Modica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where time seems to stand still. Modica Alta is a very quiet, safe yet central neighborhood in Modica.It is located in the southern area of Iblei Mountains, close to Mediterranean golden beaches, fishermen villages and splendid Baroque towns of Val di Noto. Being independent and very cozy, the house is a perfect base to relax and discover the beauties of Southeastern Sicily.

The House

The house is finely decorated and renovated with love by me and my family to preserve its original charm while providing it with modern utilities (Internet WIFI, TV, A/C, oven, washing machine, etc.). Ideal to have a wine privately but also to enjoy an early breakfast, the sunny terrace has a dining table surrounded by palms and a truly romantic setting. The view from it is very charming, especially at night. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and decorated with hand painted tiles. Blue stairs lead to the bedroom on a loft with cushions and place to sit and read.

Parking

At a few minutes by walking from the house there is a free parking area where you can park.

Tips

There are plenty of monuments, beaches, historical towns of Sicily to explore and car rental is highly recommended to move around. The Duomo di San Giorgio is the symbol of the city, one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Sicily and you can see it from the terrace of the house. Many traditional restaurants, cafes, shops selling the famous Modica chocolate, cannoli alla ricotta and other specialties as well as a supermarket are located very close to the house. I can provide you with hints and tips about restaurants and places to visit if you wish.

Once you confirm the booking and prior to your arrival I will send you an email with all the practical information, useful contacts, addresses and phone numbers and restaurants, cafes, things to do in Modica. You can enter the house with a code you can digit I will send you before your arrival so you can get there anytime you wish and without having to arrange a meeting or wait. You will then find the keys in the house to be used. I am available at all times if you need anything and I have a ''team'' of local plumbers, technicians, etc. who are ready to help in case of need. The house is very private, you will feel as it is your home during your staying.

    How do damage deposits work?

    If Olivia (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
