Casale Vaticano is a fantastic luxury, Tuscan villa in the hills above Montecatini Terme and Monsummano Terme. It is semi-detached however the neighbours do not overlook the property.
At a higher level than the villa, at the top of the sloped garden dotted with olive trees is the pool. It is a wonderful location with incredible views over the roof top of the villa and onto the valley beyond the estate. To one side of the pool is a Jacuzzi.
From a private courtyard there is entry into the bright and spacious property with lots of Tuscan characteristics that include terracotta paved floors and a vaulted terracotta ceiling. On entering there are some steps to the left that lead to a cosy sitting area, ideal to relax and read one of the books on the bookshelf against the back wall. From here is access to the downstairs bathroom with shower.
Directly ahead of the entrance is an arch which leads into the main lounge. It is a comfortable room with a double and single sofa around a glass coffee table. A fireplace is against the far wall.
Continuing on a smaller arch leads into the dining room. This is a large room with the huge, original fireplace to one side. The room is furnished is a heavy wooden table that can comfortably seat 10 people, and a well stocked, antique sideboard. A fantastic, Tuscan, terracotta urn provides the room with extra character.
A door leads into the kitchen, which is located on a slightly higher level. This is a bright room, completely decorated in white with built-in units and a marble sink, commonly found in Tuscan villa kitchens. It is fully equipped and includes electric hobs, an oven and a fridge with separate freezer compartment. In the centre of the room is a dining table which can seat 8 people. Glass doors provide access to the garden.
The bedroom area is on the first floor, on the landing there are a couple of armchairs and an antique chest of drawers. The smallest bedroom is directly in front of the stairs. It is a well furnished double room, with a large wardrobe and table with a couple of chairs. It has a window overlooking the garden and the views of Montecatini Terme in the valley below. En-suite is a lovely bathroom with hydromassage shower.
To the right of the stairs is a little hall, off this is a spacious double bedroom which has a simple, double sofa. There are two windows providing ample light. One looks out towards the fantastic views of the valley while the other overlooks the side of owner's villa and has limited views. The bathroom is located just across the small hall, it has a large tub with an overhead shower.
To the left of the landing are the final two bedrooms. The larger of the two faces to the front of the property and overlooks the views of the valley. It is a bright room due to the three windows. It is furnished with a double bed, small table with two chairs and a double sofa. In a small hall off the room is the wardrobe and the bathroom with hydromassage shower.
Next to this is the last bedroom which has an en-suite bathroom with hydromassage shower. In the room is a double bed, small table with two chairs, a double door wardrobe and a wonderful cot. One of the windows looks onto the sloping garden to the back of the property, while the other onto the side garden.
At a higher level in the garden is the outside dining area on a sunny, paved terrace. It is furnished with a large wooden table with chairs and a bench, shaded by an umbrella and with a barbeque to one side. A smaller iron table with chairs sits under a large olive tree. From the terrace there are amazing views of the valley and the surrounding hills.
4 double bedrooms with private bathrooms. They can all made into twins.
There is air-conditioning in the bedrooms.
Only small dogs are allowed.
The owners live in a small annex onsite, they do not use the pool. They have 3 cats which do roam the estate.
The neighbouring villa, although attached, does not overlook the gardens or villa. The rental price do not include the final cost of euro 200,00 to be payed at the check out by cash and the electricity cost to be pay for the real consuption of euro 0.40 each Kwatt.
