This elegant house has a long noble history dating back to the eleven hundreds as registered in the town records. It is a typical tower of that era built when the town houses were built that way. It was completely renovated by the Roman architect San Felice Bagnoli and belonged to a Neapolitan count when we bought it.
It is very comfortably furnished and in an ideal position, one and a half hours from both Rome and Florence. The lovely fully furnished living room is on the entrance level with a flatscreen tv that has multiple language satellite reception plus a guest bathroom and laundry. The house develops over three floors connected by a spiral staircase great for staying in shape.
On the first floor is the dining room that comfortably seats six with a fully equipped kitchen. Up a further flight is the guest bedroom with a king size bed and en suite full bathroom with shower.
The master bedroom is on the last floor with a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside also with a king size bed and en suite full bathroom with a bathtub and shower.
Just outside the village walls 200 meters away is our olive grove with a spectacular view of the countryside where you can go to have a picnic, with barbecue set up, a table and chairs for six and sun umbrella. It has fifty olive trees, three almonds, two plums, three figs and a big cherry tree. When the trees have fruit you are welcome to enjoy, it is a really special treat!!!!! It is perfect for a late afternoon cocktail to watch the sun setting over the hills. Breathe in the perfumed fresh air and fill your lungs with oxygen, it is very revitalizing.
This charming house is on the Tuscany/ Umbria border perfect for day trips to visit the famous Tuscan towns of Montepulciano, home to the famous Vino Nobile, the hot springs of San Casciano Bagni, Pienza the town famous for the Pecorino sheep cheese and Siena for it's fabled Palio which takes place in July and August.
In Umbria you have the Perugia Jazz festival and the famous chocolate fair, the art and music festival of Spoletto, the beautiful town of Orvieto and it's cathedral, and of course Assisi just to name a few. There are pools nearby that you can use by the day that are public and also part of Chateau and Relais establishments.
We have a maid you can hire to clean and cook. She cooks typical delicious Umbrian meals of the area, with farm fresh vegetables, homemade pasta and luscious fruits and desserts. Our cook is known for her authentic cooking and it is a treat to taste her food. As she also works for a biological winery she can introduce you to the winery and their special organic wines.
