“A great part of Spain”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2017

This apartment is in a lovely part of Spain and yes the view is spectacular but it comes at a price. The location is at the top of a very steep hill and the road that takes you to the top is not for the faint hearted. Once you reach the top of the road there is a driveway up to the apartment that is even steeper. We had a brand new hire car with good tyres and it took us several days to master getting up and down the driveway and would not have attempted had it rained. The apartment is essentially built on a very steep hillside and is typical of the area. The ground floor has a well equipped kitchen, shower room and living area that is air conditioned. This leads out via a dinning room that is not air conditioned to the terrace area where there is lots of sunshades. The outside furniture has seen better days and could do with upgrading. The living area leads down a quite steep set of steps to what is typically described as the under-build as it sits lower on the hillside. The steps lead to a double bedded room that has air-con, a bathroom that also contains a washing machine, the second twin room that does not have air-con and is the only access path to the pool area. During our particular stay we soon noticed that the twin room room appeared to have been used as more of a store room for outside cushions and a through way to the pool. We found the room to be very cluttered with rugs, pool items and in complete dis-array and not organised for use as a bedroom. We then began to notice a strange smell coming from the other double room and on closer inspection found that the bed had had no mattress or pillow protectors and had become so badly soiled that the soft cushion side of the mattress had been turned upside down. Our view was this was not an oversight but more the normal standard for this apartments management, we therefore took it upon our selves to loose a day of our holiday organising and deep cleaning the two bedrooms and with the help of the hot Spanish sun we managed to get the bedrooms a little cleaner and organised than before. Our overall view is this is someone's holiday home that they have decided to rent out and like anyone's own home is comes with things you need to know about like the fact that when the pool man comes and leaves the hosepipe on filling the pool this disables the water pump to the domestic water supply and until you turn all the power off in the apartment and back on again to reset the pump it will not come back on, this lost us almost two days with no water before we got hold of the cleaner and she explained how to get the water back on. Most holiday lettings leave detailed instructions and notes everywhere and emergency contact numbers if you are struggling, if there was any we couldn't find them. This place could offer a lot more with some updates and investment and in our opinion managed in a way that guests would find it easy to enjoy the great view.
