This idyllic 10 acre lakeview home is 2500sq. ft and has 4 bedrooms on the second floor. Two master bedrooms feature queen-sized custom built “St. James”-style beds. The full bathroom with tub has a privacy door into one of the master bedrooms. The 2 additional bedrooms have: in the first, a set of bunks with a double lower mattress; and the other, a double bed. In total, the 4 bedrooms can accommodate 8 sleepers comfortably (2x2 in queen beds, 2x2 in double beds, & 1 in the twin bunk).

Expansive views feature breathtaking panoramic vistas over the orchard & fields across Lake Nicaragua to the windward shores of the Nicaraguan & Costa Rican mainland. As you walk directly out of your bedroom onto the 2nd floor deck for your morning coffee, you begin to appreciate the magic of being on the largest lake in Central America.

On the ground floor, an open floor plan design incorporates the living, dining and kitchen areas, protected from the sun by a wrap-around veranda: ideal for this southern climate. The modern food prep area has large counter spaces and is fully equipped, from the cast iron fry pan to coffee grinder and blender. The large frost free fridge will keep all of your fresh food and beverages in fine form. The 1,000 sq. ft. covered deck wraps around the lake side of the house offering a comfortable lounge area, outdoor dining area for 9 and numerous hammock spots. A second bathroom with tiled shower enclosure completes the ground floor.

The onshore breeze allows this home to enjoy pleasant temperatures year round without air conditioning. There are fans throughout the house for those extra hot days!

Guests often walk 1 km to neighbourhood beach bar, Samaritano or take a short flat bike trip (2 km, < 10 min.) to one of the island's most popular and picturesque beaches, Punta Jesus Maria.

It is a 20 minute bike ride to Moyogalpa, the island's main town. This town has a dozen restaurants, banks (ATM) and friendly welcoming locals. A bus passes near your house travelling in both directions on a regular schedule coordinating with all departing foot and car ferries. Taxis are also available by arrangement. 20 minutes in the other direction brings you to the town of San Jose /Alta Gracia. Santo Domingo beach is a lovely place to spend the day.

Although the farm is private, the village of Los Angeles is at the top of the picturesque driveway. A traditional square is where the locals and visitors gather at sunset to play, enjoy the lit basketball court or just laze on one of the many park benches. On weekends and holidays, the street vendors set up barbecues. The numerous island rodeos, the world famous fresh water spring and pool, the river kayaking, volcano climbing, waterfall trekking will give you plenty to do and see (if you can drag yourself away from the property!).

Known as the “Oasis of Peace”, this island and this community enjoy a tranquility and happiness that brings visitors back time and time again. There are no fast food joints, no traffic jams. Wifi is Fibre Optic so you have good connections depending on power on the Isla. Please note that this house is located in Nicaragua, and although the power infrastructure has been improving, there can be power outages on Ometepe and throughout the country.

How do damage deposits work?

If George (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
