From the owner

Low Rigg is a roomy cottage in the sought-after village of Muker, in upper Swaledale. Sleeping 6 in three bedrooms, the cottage has lots of space to relax in, both upstairs and down, and a gorgeous private garden, with lovely views to nearby hills. The dining room (with electric piano) seats 6 comfortably, and has a logburning stove for chilly evenings, starter pack of fuel included. Through to the living room, with a charming antique linen press and feature fireplace, again, lots of space for a family holiday. Week bookings are Friday to Friday.

The kitchen at the rear leads out onto the big garden, which has a summerhouse where guests can relax and admire views of both the garden and the hills. There is a private parking space in the garden, secure behind garden gates.

Upstairs are two very spacious double front bedrooms, overlooking the village, and a twin bedroom which looks out onto the lovely garden. There is also a family bathroom, with bath, separate shower, WC and basin. Lots of walks direct from the door, and the Farmer's Arms just yards away for great beer and food.

All in all, a lovely home from home for a family holiday in beautiful Swaledale. Sit in the gorgeous garden after walking over nearby Kisdon and - relax! Sleeps 6, two dogs welcome, free wifi. Sorry, no smoking.

Week bookings run from Friday to Friday. Short breaks are welcome.

Interaction with guest

You will let yourself into the cottage. If there are any problems, contact Judith during your holiday, and she will endeavour to sort them out asap. This is not only for your convenience, but also for those guests arriving as you leave; it is often difficult to sort out maintenance issues between your departure at 10am and next guest arrival at 3pm.

Response from the owner
I'm sorry you felt Low Rigg was only fair to average. I have had no wifi for the last month and phone line was down for at least 3 weeks, so that's why the answerphone didn't cut in. I still have no wifi now, having to deal with everything on my ipad, driving down to Muker twice a day. Points about toilet and breakfast bowls were reported to owners. I'm afraid I can't, as a manager, take responsibility for cottage repairs if the owners won't. I do the best I can, but ultimately, it's the owners of a cottage who need to deal with problems. I will report again to owners re the toilet and bowls. Thank-you for your feedback.

So glad you enjoyed both the cottage and the stunning surroundings and, yes, great walks direct from the door. Perfect for the dog as well!
