Welcome to La Grange - Gite Mur de Barrez

When you arrive in Marcillac, 4km from Mur de Barrez, the barn (the translation of La Grange) is the first thing you notice before your eyes settle on the stunning valley views beyond.

Our barn has been designed to give you a high level of comfort combined with peace and tranquility. With a total surface of about 230m², spread over three levels, there are three en-suite bedrooms with really comfortable beds and luxury bedlinen. The main living floor, measuring about 100m² is fully open plan with a kitchen kitted out for the keenest of cooks, a large dining area, and two seating areas separated by a rotating log burner. Walk through the sliding doors at the far end to arrive at the perfect terrace, overlooking the valley.

Hanneke and Tony, the owners, live next door, and their philosophy is to provide you with a great stay from the moment you arrive right up to the moment you leave Marcillac. On arrival all beds are made, soft towels are laid out for you and, if you so wish, you can enjoy a wonderfully home cooked meal.

Your holiday can be as relaxed or as active as you wish. If you need to recharge your batteries, then why not chose a spot in the garden to read a book or enjoy the sunshine. If you want to get out and about, there are so many activities at close proximity: swimming, cycling, walking, horseriding, balloon rides, skiing, golf.

Food is important in this area: Mur de Barrez is a Village Gourmand, in part due to its great restaurant, but also because of the quality of its artisan bakers and butchers. From organic farms, to the dairy which produces the famous Cantal cheese, if you like your food, you can't go far wrong here.

La Grange is open all year round and whilst outside height of summer there are fewer people in the area, it only helps to highlight even more the extreme beauty of this area as well as the luxury and comfort of your home from home.

Hanneke and Tony have lived here since 2004. Their house is next door to La Grange and if you need any help or advice, they are more than willing to help you. They will meet you on arrival and wave you goodbye at the end of your stay. In between, you can ask them to prepare you an evening meal or a picnic, make reservations for you or help you out with a bit of translation.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You’ll need to contact Hanneke (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Hanneke (the owner) a message.

If Hanneke (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
