From the owner

Private garden apartment in historic Uptown house. Large bedroom, large bathroom with custom shower, and large open living, dining, and kitchen area. All brand new, stainless appliances. Double sleeper sofa. Walk three doors down to St. Charles to catch the streetcar down to the French Quarter, take a walk or jog on the Mississippi River Trail or to Audubon Park, walk three blocks to endless shopping and eating on Maple St (and venture just a few blocks farther to even more options on Oak St). Minutes from Tulane and Loyola Universities. And after a long, hot day exploring NOLA, enjoy a refreshing dip in our heated pool!

We live upstairs and are generally around and will be as available as our guests would like. We love to eat at local restaurants, listen to music, etc. and love to share what we love about our city with visitors. We have a book of restaurants and a list of things to do in New Orleans in the apartment.

We live in the main house upstairs, so are available at a moment's notice if guests need anything, but we also give our guests plenty of space and privacy. If we're around when guests arrive, generally meet and greet upon arrival to give them a quick "lay of the land," then leave them to their own devices unless they need anything. Happy to interact as much or as little as guests wish.

Thanks for the review, Richard, and the feedback. I'm a bit perplexed that you were surprised at the accommodations - the listing is very clear that it is a garden apartment, and that we live upstairs. I'm sorry if there was any confusion about that. We will be paving the area along the side of the house (there is already a brick patio outside the apartment, it's just a small stretch that is unpaved), and the boards were only there because there had been a lot of recent rain. We will also be getting a dresser for the bedroom - we've been looking, but it's proven a bit of a challenge finding one the right size. And finally, we have brand new bedsheets - we replace all of the linens regularly, so I apologize you caught these at the end of their cycle.

How do damage deposits work?
