Happy Vale, located in the heart of the Mourne Mountains, has two luxury cottages Bearnagh and Meelbeg separated by a courtyard. A walking equipment/bike store/heated drying room is provided. The cottages have been designed to suit families, walking groups, mountain bikers and other outdoor enthusiasts who want a warm cosy base with mountain walking from the door.

Situated on a hill farm close to Happy Valley in the Mourne Mountains. Happy Vale with a mountain stream running past is a smaller version of Happy Valley.

Bearnagh Cottage has a stunning spacious live in kitchen/sun room with granite fireplace and wood burning stove. Outside, a massive picnic table is perfect for groups eating outdoors while enjoying the sound of the stream babbling past. A car port is provided.

Three bedrooms sleeping up to seven guests:

• Bedroom one – sleeps two, king size bed with en suite bathroom, TV.

• Bedroom two – sleeps three, double bed and a single bed, TV.

• Bedroom three – sleeps two, bunk beds.

Luxury bathroom with separate shower and bath.

Happy Vale is a showcase for environmentally friendly systems: ground source heat pump linked to under floor heating, wood burning stove, solar hot water, solar PV electricity, grey water system from our mountain spring for flushing toilets, external sockets for charging electric vehicles. All these features allow you to enjoy four star luxury while minimising your impact on the environment.

Guests can enjoy the sound of the stream running past or can relax on one of the 4 leather sofas about the log burning stove.

With under floor heating throughout (even in the bike store/drying room) guests can look forward to a warm cosy base at any time of year. Situated just a few miles from Tollymore and Castlewellan forest parks this provides an ideal holiday base.

Perfect cosy beautiful

How do damage deposits work?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Gerry (the owner) a message.

If Gerry (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
