High amidst the rooftops of baroque Old Nice, with an amazing dawn-to-dusk southern exposure, sits The Swallows Nest. From this immaculate apartment you can see views from the Château gardens to the green-and-gold stucco of the Cathedral directly opposite and across Place Rossetti.

Renovated in 2021 with walls painted in the palest pistachio to complement Nice's vibrant architectural tradition, this fully equipped holiday home has a spacious kitchen with dining table ; a working / reading space with two large windows, and a sleeping area. There is a Queen-size bed, a desk and a wardrobe. Your view from the bedroom window to the Cathedral is breathtaking. The building is historically listed, so air-conditioning units are prohibited, but the through-draft from the open windows and overhead fan in the bedroom are wonderful even in the height of summer.

On a really hot day keep the windows open but the curtains and shutters closed!

To feel on top of the world you have to CLIMB stairs!

The Swallows’ Nest is high above the roofs of medieval Nice, on the 6th floor.

There are virtually no elevators in Old Nice, so sadly if you find stairs difficult, this wonderful hideaway is not for you. If you're checking your 10,000 steps this will be PERFECT!

***LONG STAYS and the ENERGY CRISIS. For monthly stays, it's fair you pay for what you use, so we'll take a meter reading at the start and end of your stay. We found it more transparent than adding a guessed amount to your monthly rate. This will be paid direct to your hosts after your stay.

PARKING

Due to it’s fabulous setting, nestled in the narrow streets of Vieux Nice, there is NO parking offered at the Swallows Nest, but you can park at Cours Saleya or other public street parking. Searching for free parking in Nice, can lead you to find street parking a wee bit further out with a stroll back into the old town.

FURNISHING DETAILS

The kitchen has both an oven and microwave, fridge-freezer and ample equipment for the cook within you. If you don’t always want to eat out, you have the most wonderful market with fresh local produce just a 5 minute stroll away. There’s private Wi-Fi and an MP3 CD player with a USB port, there’s no TV so you can truly unwind! The bathroom has a shower. There’s a ceiling fan for summer and a solid wall-mounted radiator for winter visitors. The front door is a security door.

i am so glad you enjoyed being in old town rooftops! ah my friends the stairs!! no-one saw this european heatwave coming but i feel for you. i do star/flag and maybe even use capitals to make sure folk are aware of our old town stairs. i look at it like a spot of cardio so i can feast on Nicois delicacies..... take care!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jacqueline (the owner) a message.

If Jacqueline (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
