With an entirely private, solar heated swimming pool, which is never shared with anyone else, families or couples can choose their own style of holiday at our country cottage, La Joie du Muguet. Relax in privacy sitting on one of the terraces or in the shade of fruit trees, enjoy the pool with its shallow end that's perfect for children or enjoy all sorts of activities: boules, table tennis (provided for you in your private garden), also fishing, golf, horse riding, cycling, sailing, walking, shopping at local markets, zoos, activity centres, museums ..... or visit the renowned châteaux and vineyards - or enjoy a mix of both relaxation and activity.
With a kitchen sensibly equipped for a family and a charcoal barbecue, you can choose to self-cater or you can eat out at one of the many restaurants in the surrounding towns and villages all of which welcome children.
Bedroom 1 suits a couple in the French Kingsize bed.
Bedroom 2 is just right for a couple and 2 children, with room for a travel cot (provided). The French Kingsize bed (180 x 200 cm) in Bedroom 2 can also be made up as 2 singles making this room great for up to 4 children (+ a baby in the travel cot).
Although the swimming pool is not heated from mid- September until Easter, the new Games Room is open all year for darts, pool, table tennis, table football -and ballet barres, trainer, weights and exercise bike are also available.
As owners we are a family that lives in France and we, and those who help in the maintenance of this property, can offer you knowledge of our area that only comes with having lived there for many years. If you have any questions please do just email us and we will always do our best to provide a full response. We and those who help us live near enough to the cottage to be helpful but far enough away to avoid being intrusive.

What an absolutely brilliant place to stay, i can not fault the cottage, all you need is there for your convenience and a smooth start to your holiday, the welcome pack is amazing. The hosts are ever so helpful and a mind of information. Drinking coffee on the patio in the morning listening to the bird song sends you a million miles from your hustle a bustle life, drinking a cold glass of fizz in the warm evening watching the sun go down is the perfect end to the day before retiring to your very comfy bed. All we can say is thank you it was AMAZING !!!!! John & Maddi
“Lovely peaceful location and house”
We arrived on a cold Saturday, the house was nice and warm and clean. There was a very comprehensive welcome pack to get you started. Tea, coffee, sugar,, milk, Baguette wine and other goodies. Easy access to local towns by very quiet roads so ideal for cycling and walking. The house is very clean and well looked after Comfortable beds, we slept very well also there is no light pollution Internet was good ,we had no problems. The garden is private and leads to a quiet no through lane so no traffic making it safe for children. Felicity and Chris have thought of everything you may need, there was a plentiful supply of wood for cold evenings, some bathroom extras i.e. dressing gowns and some toiletries to .start you off. Thank you both and Maureen a very good holiday despite the weather

“Can't keep away!”
Well so often you go back to a place that you've loved before only to be disappointed but this is definitely not the case for my visits to Le Muguet. I knew that Chris and Felicity had been having various works done so I was a bit apprehensive but when I arrived it was to find that Le Muguet was every bit as good as before whilst their big old barn (affectionately known as Old Ted) now has a new roof and is looking secure for another 100 years. I find on counting up that this is my eighth winter/spring visit (one visit a year). It just feels like a second home to me now. I go there for the peace for my work and for the ease of accessibility to Paris, Tours and Angers. Various members of my family descend during my 6 week stay at various times and are always made welcome. I don't usually bother with reviews but this place is exceptional and so here it is. What makes it so special? Le Muguet manages to successfully combine the charm of a traditional old French house with modern comfort. Brilliant for kids - my grandchildren can race around outside to their hearts' content in a safe environment. But the factor that makes it so special is the care that these hosts take to make your stay a good one. Someone else said this in another review - this place is a gem. I rather regret that I have never made the effort to write a review before because Le Muguet deserves a good review. Not for those looking for bustling city life and discos!
Have stayed in several gites and cottages in France and most were very good, but La Joie du Muguet really was perfect Our hosts were very helpful but never intrusive The accommodation was spacious, well equipped and, most importantly, spotless The beds were very comfortable, Fresh free range egg were available and were so enjoyable we actually brought some back to the UK
“Great cottage, great location, great hospitality = great holiday”
This cottage is conveniently located to afford easy access to numerous attractions and acitivities. The village of Noyant offers all the necessary essentials and is pleansantly sleepy - in that 'French' kind of way. And the cottage ... If you want to get away from it all while still being able to be part of it all - this is the place. You can enjoy the peaceful seculsion of the cottage or, with a short drive east, west, north or south, fill your day with interesting and exiciting activities. Every need is anticipated in this well-prepared and well-stocked cottage. And if its not, Felicity and Chris are personable and eager to make your stay as perfect as possible (while not being at all intrusive). And after dinner, if you just want to enjoy a nightime swim, or a glass of wine on the patio or a stroll to the pond, the open skies and true dark of a rural night reveals the splash of the Milky Way to add that little fillip that separates a good holiday, from a truly memorable one.

Without doubt the best property we have ever rented anywhere, giving the best holiday we have ever had, and at excellent value. Equipped with everything you can ever need, from the dishwasher to the fishing tackle! Beautifully converted property, bathrooms of a 5* hotel standard, very comfortable and with every need for the holiday maker thought of, run by lovely people who really genuinely care that you have a great holiday. Booking process was a breeze and very efficient. Lazy days around the excellent pool or loads to see and do within a short car journey. We will be going back.
“A little piece of Heaven!”
Discovered La Joie de Muguet whilst researching French holidays on Trip Advisor. All the reviews seemed great, and after booking the informative communications from Felicity were very reassuring that we had found a real Gem in the Loire Valley, but could it be that good? You bet it could! When we first stepped inside the cottage we all said WOW, this is it! Even before meeting Felicity, Chris and Sam we were hooked! Quite literally after discovering the pond and re-kindling childhood memories of many happy summers spent fishing. Although this time with a bottle of scrummy local Chardonnay for company. The cottage was perfect for myself, my wife and our 12 year son. Absolutely everything one could possibly require for a great holiday was provided. The capacious welcome basket was amazing, the fresh free range eggs from "the girls" were delicious and the overall feel of the place was very special and something we wish to sample again. The cottage is set in farmland, just outside of Noyant, a small town with all amenities eg: Supermarket, boulangerie, pharmacy etc. The cottage is in very good order, with a lovely garden, swimming pool, terrace, gazebo etc and just across the track the much talked about carp pond. It is perfectly situated to discover the fabulous Loire region. We had flown into Paris from Belfast, picked up a hire car then driven down to the Loire in approx 3 hours. Whilst there we enjoyed visiting various Chateaux, markets etc and generally soaking up the atmosphere of being in lovely rural france. Felicity, Chris & Sam are lovely people and it was a joy to meet them. Sadly however our week was too short and we had to leave, off for 3 nights in Paris before returning home. We left however knowing that we had found a wonderful holiday cottage and that we would definately be returning next year, only for longer!
“A fabulous cottage in the Loire Valley”
We enjoyed an absoloutely brilliant holiday at La Muguet. The cottage has everything you possibly need with the owners providing a huge welcome pack of food and provisions you hardly needed to shop for a few days. It is very comfortable and renovated to a high standard with the added bonus of a pool and lovely gardens. Great location for touring with Saumur only 25 mins drive away but also a pretty local town 5 mins with a great butcher, 2 patisseries and bars and a market on Saturday. We will be returning next year and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Delightful cottage, furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The owners, Felicity and Chris and their son Sam are extremely nice people, nothing is too much trouble for them. They are a mine of information about things to see and do, both locally and further afield. There are also fully comprehensive information packs in the cottage, covering every conceivable inters for all age groups. The generous welcome pack could almost be described as a small food hamper. The linen pack even included luxury bathrobes and face flannels. The supplying of towels for the pool is certainly a bonus. We have recommended this property to friends, and they speak very highly of Felicity and Chris, their stay in the cottage, and the surrounding area. We have immendsely enjoyed our 2 holidays at La Muguets, and look forward to returning again next year.
