Our property is not just a house; it is a place... a place with activities, wildlife, flora, fauna, fruits, trails, small waterfalls and much more.

NEW: We now have fiber optic internet access. Wi-Fi throughout. Also, the road to the property is partially paved. Much improved.

Gated and Private. Meticulously maintained 65+ acre private retreat with flowers and wildlife too numerous to mention. Over 3 miles of private hiking trails, many leading to fantastic vistas of the surrounding mountains, volcano and lake. The house is a compact 2,500 square foot open floor plan design with 5 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full, and 4 twin and 1 bunk bed) and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 10. Each bedroom has great views. Full kitchen inside with local hand made cabinetry and a local hand made eat-in dining table that seats up to 10.The veranda on the back of the house is huge with great views of the lake and has a working wood stove that can serve as an outdoor kitchen. All linens, towels and kitchen utensils onsite.

If you are looking smaller, less expensive, accommodations, please check out our Blue Butterfly Cottage on our property..... a cozy, quiet and private cottage that sleeps 1-4 adults.. Contact us for details about our cottage for up to 4 persons.

We have a 1 acre private natural swimming pond with platforms and swimming ladders for ease of use. Make sure you check out our photos.

We have many banana, pineapple, orange, mandarin, grapefruit, lemon, lime, breadfruit trees and more. You are welcome to enjoy all that the property has to offer.

We are only 2.5km (1.5 miles) outside the Town of Nuevo Arenal. Close to shopping, tours and dining. Our location makes a perfect base for those wanting to explore all Costa Rica has to offer or just relax and enjoy the many hiking trails, flora, fauna and wildlife without leaving the property.

Please note: If you are planning to rent a vehicle, make sure it has high clearance. 4X4 is not really necessary but something with high clearance is... something like a mini-SUV or larger. We strongly recommend something larger than an economy car. Although the roads are safe, they can be bumpy especially after rainy season and the road to our property is partially paved.

We are glad you enjoyed all that our property has to offer... even the wildlife. As to the road, the good news is that they just started the repairs April 29th ---- what a great piece of news!! All of the bad spots in the road are clear now and when they complete the process of resurfacing with new gravel and compaction, it will be a breeze. These repairs have been long awaited and finally coming to fruition.

We are glad you enjoyed our slice of paradise. You need to make sure you come again when our orchard of Oranges, Mandarins, Grapefruit, Lemons, Limes, Pineapples and Bananas are ripe... such a feast. We have just planted a grove of Macadamia trees too! On the road front... we finally received word from the local Municipality that our road is scheduled for a major redo in April/May this year.. this is welcomed news! April 29, 2014 UPDATE --- the road repairs have begun... great news!!! The machines came to scrape and re-grade the bad spots and when they apply the new gravel and compaction it will be a breeze. What a welcomed sight and sound when we heard the machines working...

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Bret (the owner) a message.

If Bret (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
