If you’re looking for a base from which to explore Sri Lanka, this is your perfect home away from home.

Location: Centrally located in a suburban neighborhood, our home is just 20 minutes from the Colombo city center. The Katunayake airport no more than an hour’s drive away and within easy access to the Southern Express Highway (perfect for day trips down to the southern coast - Galle, Hikkaduwa, Unawatuna are always popular destinations!).

The room and facilities: Totally white, Non AC en-suite room located on the ground floor of our spacious two-story home. The room consists of two single beds (which can be combined to a double bed if you wish), wardrobe and vanity. The attached bathroom offers hot and cold water along with complimentary toiletries. The room has a ceiling fan. Wi-Fi is complimentary and Sri Lankan breakfast, tea or coffee is available on request (at no additional cost).

Guest access: Guests are welcome to use the kitchen which has a microwave, toaster, electric kettle and fridge. You can also make yourself at home in the large living area that opens out in to our garden. There’s also a quaint seating space outside under a pergola – perfect to relax with a hot cup of Ceylon tea and a book from our little library.

Getting around: Located on the main road, there’s plenty of busses and meter tuk tuks almost at our doorstep; you can also call a taxi via apps like Uber or PickMe. The Colombo and Southern Express Highway bus stop is 05 minutes away (you can reach Galle within 1 hour). Several major train stations are within easy reach- the ideal way to travel to the Hill Country (for Kandy, Nuwaraeliya, Bandarawela). We can arrange for a private A/C car with driver for comfortable long distance travel as well as airport pick-up/drop-off on your behalf.

Access to amenities: Walking distance to several supermarkets, local fruit and vegetable markets, bank ATMs, hospitals and pharmacies. There are also plenty of local and international dining options to choose from if you want to have a quick meal somewhere nearby, grab a takeaway or order for delivery. We are always happy to make suggestions so do feel free to ask.

Interaction with guests:

We like interacting with guests and always happy to recommend the best places for a good Sri Lankan rice and curry or offer helpful suggestions when planning your travels. But we are also more than happy to leave you to your devices if that is your preference. We speak English, in case you were wondering. ;)

Other things to note: We can be flexible with arrival and check-out times and even accommodate late night arrivals or check-outs. Payments can be made by cash (we accept Sri Lanka rupees, Sterling Pounds or US Dollars).

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Lakshman (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
