The mansion has been used for dozens of photo and video shoots by Williams Sonoma, Cost Plus, Loews, Gumps, Pottery Barn and others. As all this implies, the property is just beautiful, with grand rooms, and towering ceilings.
Overview:
Unless we've made other arrangements, there will be 15 beds provided (more for a fee; fewer for rate reduction). Spread over 9 rooms, they include 2 kings, 7 queens, and 6 twins. More beds (airbeds and sofa-beds) are available for a fee. There are also vast common areas, on the first floor, and third floor.
Second Floor - the main bedroom floor:
The second floor has 5 bedrooms. This includes 2 massive master suites, each with a king bed, its own bathroom and a second attached room. Each of these attached rooms also has a bed. One of the master bedrooms has a twin bed (in a separate, attached room, behind a door). The other master bedroom also has a second bed, a full size "click clack" sofa bed (it will be a sofa unless you request another bed; fees may apply). This floor has 3 more large bedrooms. These share a bathroom that has two showers in it. One of these rooms has two queen beds, another has a queen and a twin, and the third has just a queen. So, on this floor, there are 8 beds usually, 9 beds possible.
Entry Floor (entered one flight of stairs from the driveway) - Kitchen, Vast Common areas and 3 bedrooms. Of the three entry floor bedrooms, one is VERY large. The others are more typical size. All three have Queen beds. This floor has a half bathroom, so no shower. It also has massive common areas, including a grand dining room, a large kitchen, and 3 living areas. Note: entry to these 3 bedrooms are through heavy curtains, rather than doors. The heavy curtains close for privacy.
Top Floor - Game room and 4 beds (5 possible):
The top floor is mostly one very large, wide open space, with beds, games and a half bathroom (no shower or tub). It has four twin beds. It also has a full size "click clack" sofa bed. This will be a sofa unless you request a bed (fees may apply). There is a big "arcade size" air hockey table, and a smaller (not "arcade size") shuffleboard table, board games, puzzles and more.
The Kitchen is EXTREMELY well stocked. There are at many pots and pans, cuisinart with a dozen blades, blender, at least 8 mixing and serving bowls, 6 cutting boards, cutlery for 40 people +, massive (restaurant style) sink, huge microwave. If there is something you need, please ask. It will either already be here, or I will provide it, as long as it is very obscure and costly.
Basement Floor Bathroom:
One more floor down, the basement, has a full bathroom, with a shower. The basement is generally not very pretty. However, the bathroom all works fine, including the shower.
Outdoors:
There are vast, beautiful outdoor spaces, with several well-furnished areas, in which to lounge and just enjoy the great many sunny days in Oakland (far sunnier than SF).
