From the owner

This is a luxury detached property: tastefully decorated, light and spacious, there are three well appointed bedrooms with good storage and three bathrooms (two ensuite). This great villa with free WIFI, has a large garden with pool (which can be heated for a small additional charge) and offers a high degree of privacy. Appealing to those looking for luxury living in a quiet and relaxing environment. The accommodation is very light and spacious due to it's open plan layout. The villa has been furnished in a modern manner befitting its contemporary style and is perfect for family living . Outside the villa - you can enjoy outside living with an array of outdoor furniture, BBQ, deck chairs around the private pool. The cycle path around Obidos lagoon is 400 metres away and there are 4 championship golf courses within a few minutes drive.

Maximum occupancy is 6 adults (1 double and 2 twin rooms), with up to 3 children and 2 infants; two children can be accommodated in a set of permanent bunk beds with good mattresses, there is also space in the master bedroom for 1 child's camp bed. We also have 2 cots.

The open plan living area has a comfortable seating area with two large sofas, satellite TV, DVD, CD player, WiFi, dining table and a fully equipped kitchen; this area opens on two sides to the outside space. The villa sits in the middle of its own beautiful south facing garden, with a spacious patio with furniture and private pool (6x4 metres) which can be heated. Surrounded by pine and eucalyptus forest and a five minute walk from the beautiful Obidos Lagoon with its shallow, clear waters which are perfect for children; excellent beaches and golf are a very short drive away.

Note: The villa is on the lower edge of the development of villas, so enjoys good privacy; the plot is far bigger than many, with the garden a really excellent size for children. Good parking.

Separate charge for pool heating: EUR 65 per week March to October and EUR 100 November-February to heat to approximately 26 degrees.

EUR 50 charge for change of linen and towels mid stay (required for multiple week bookings).

Golf/ Beaches/ Sightseeing: Golf information: Praia del Rey golf is under 10 minutes away. Bom Successo Golf course is around 5 minutes away. Royal Obidos and Westcliffs are even closer!

There are numerous unspoilt white sandy beaches within 5 to 10 minutes driving distance including Praia D'el Rey , Praia de Bom Sucesso, Cortico and slightly further afield Baleal. The family friendly beach at Obidos Lagoon is 5 minutes away . Just across the the Lagoon at Foz Do Arehlo you can stroll along the promenade, sample the many cafe bars and swim in the child friendly Lagoon pools. To try out a variety of other water sports available on the lagoon contact owner for website details. In addition beaches towards Peniche are famed for surfing.

Beautiful Obidos is a 15 minute drive and is a world heritage site and medieval town; Peniche is 30 minutes away and is an active fishing town with plenty to see.

Travel: Airport: Lisbon: 72km. Perola de Lagoa is less than 1 hour from Lisbon airport or 2.5 hours from Porto airport. We feel car hire is essential though we can provide details of a reliable taxi company.

Further details: Local Supermarkets: Large supermarket (Pingo Dolce) situated at Obidos (15 mins drive) or Caldas de Rainha (E Le Clerc). Shop at Bom Successo during high season.

There are an increasing number of cafes and restaurants in the area - details are supplied in the house guide. The closest is a café at the end of Obidos Lagoon – Covao dos Musaranhos. This is open during the day and looks out onto the lagoon. They serve a good variety of snacks and meals at very reasonable rates.

There are two lovely restaurants and a café at Praia de Bom Sucesso – Rio Cortico (has a children’s menu), N'Aldheia and Bica da Lagoa. Bica da Lagoa is an internet café, locals bar, coffee house and bakery all in one. They even do cocktails in the evening and is a lovely walk from the house.

Praia D’El Rey has a number of good restaurants including Argento which overlooks the beach, golf course and has amazing views out to Berlengas island.

Royal Obidos has a very smart restaurant ‘The Legend’ (named for Seve Ballesteros who designed the course) which is 5 minutes drive.

Finally Sierra d’El Rei also offers good restaurants. Tribeca is an upmarket Brasserie (reservations recommended) – the second is a family run pizza parlour Cozinha d’El Rei – they also have a wide range of traditional local dishes.

Wine: There are several vineyards nearby to visit but the nicest place is Loridos vineyard. Please ask for further details. 5 minutes walk to Obidos Lagoon - kayaking, sailing, windsurfing.

Many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. Our apologies on the travel cot, I'll take that up with our property manager as it should have been ready for you. We are heading to the house ourselves for 2 weeks on Sunday so will check out the issue with the electricity to make sure that does not happen again! Glad you enjoyed the villa and the location!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Piers (the owner) a message.

If Piers (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
