The Rabbe barn is an exclusive architect designed and "one-of-a-kind-handmade" apartment with a panorama view towards the village center, the historical stave church, the lake and the surrounding mountains.
Whatever your background is - you will probably find this place rather unique.
The standard is high and the appartment was built with respect to the norwegian TEK10 classification (e.g.: a low energy consumption for heating).
The restoring/convertion of the barn into a "house" was done partly by using existing barn, partly with new material and partly reuse of wood, doors and tools from the historical farming done by family ancestors.
The barn is easy accessed by car or a 200 meter short walk from the bus stop (e.g NOR-WAY bussekspress).
On request: If you need more space/beds we can offer an extra room in the barn with toilet and a private entrance, suitable for 2-3 persons.
The conversion project of the barn won an architecture award in 2015: "It is creative, innovative, it is well-adapted to the old part of the building and follows local building style without copying. It uses local materials and contributes to the new use of old buildings."
The building offers air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. Housed in a building dating from 18th century, this holiday home is an 11-minute walk from Røldal Stave Church and 5 km from Røldal Ski Center. The start point for the famous Trolltunga hike is a 50min drive from here and the Hardangervidda national park is reached 30min from here.
Offering direct access to a patio, this holiday home comes with 3 separate bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. A TV with satellite channels and a DVD player are featured.
The holiday home offers a children's playground. A ski storage space is available on site and both skiing and cycling can be enjoyed within close proximity of the property.

Bedroom 2: 2 x 120cm(wide), 2 persons
