From the owner

This detached, self-contained country cottage has its own private garden and secluded patio area.

Nestled in beautiful Warwickshire countryside, set well back from the road, Barn Owl Cottage lies in a very peaceful, tranquil area shared with woodpeckers, partridges, deer and other wildlife.

It comprises a cosy sitting room with sofa, TV and Freeview, a dining area with table and chairs and a window overlooking the patio area .

The sofa is a sofabed allowing the cottage to accomodate a third person for a short term stay. The separate fully fitted modern kitchen overlooks the beautifully converted redbrick barn and gravel courtyard.

The double bedroom, overlooking the peaceful patio and fields has a super-king sized bed which can be made into 2 single beds.

The cute bathroom has a bath with shower.

Surrounded by stunning views of open fields Barn Owl Cottage allows easy access onto a public footpath making it a perfect base for walking and exploring Warwickshire.

The footpath leads you to the Grand Union Canal via The Greenway or to the local award wining gastro pub in Offchurch village central.

The newly refurbished Hill Top Farm, about a mile along the Fosse Way, has a butcher and coffee shop and sells fresh local produce including fruit, vegetables, dairy, and bakery items. It serves breakfasts and has a Hayloft restaurant.

Offchurch is a peaceful village about 3 miles from Royal Leamington Spa and Warwick. From Barn Owl Cottage you can take a leisurely drive to the tranquil waters of Draycote reservoir or simply explore the regency town of Leamington Spa with it's quaint boutiques, riverside walks and historic gardens and pump rooms. Stoneleigh Park And National Agricultural Centre, renowned for it's indoor and outdoor exhibitions, is only 15 mins drive away. There are also local golf courses and race courses nearby.

The region has a wealth of history and interesting places to visit.

The famous medieval Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle are close by with Shakespeare's Stratford Upon Avon just a little further afield. There are a number of National Trust properties to see including the superb tudor Charlecote House and Deer Park.

We live just across the courtyard in the converted barns and are on hand during your stay.

We like to welcome our guests upon arrival to make sure everything is ok and to explain the central heating controls but we respect their privacy and otherwise leave them to enjoy the peace and quiet of their stay.

This rather cramped property could do with some TLC
Jun 2019

Coming from abroad we wouldn’t have booked for 3 weeks had we known there was no WiFi which we take to be a basic requirement. Clean linen was available but only on request.

Response from the owner
Dear Julie It was lovely to meet you both and thank you for your review. The cottage is perfect for a short stay, but guests staying for longer than a couple of weeks or wishing to use the sofa bed for an extra guest are always warned before booking, like yourself, that some people may find it too small. The cottage is in the middle of the countryside making internet connection extremely difficult. As such, WiFi/internet is not advertised anywhere on our webpages. We are sorry if this was a disappointment to you. For future guests, fibre optic has finally reached us so we will be able to provide WiFi in the near future once the cottage can be connected. We are always happy to provide clean sheets and towels. We hope you had a pleasant return journey. Kind regards Clelia Lovell
