Located in Orcas Village, the cottage is far away from everyday. Yet, close to all the conveniences --walk to ferry landing, markets and restaurants.

Watch the ferry boats, kayaks, sailboats and various marine life pass by from the large sunny deck of your own very private and romantic waterfront haven built into a gentle hill right above the water.

Mariner's Cottage has a comfortable king (nova foam--gel top) bed with spectacular views from the bed. It also has a comfortable queen pull out. A luxurious choice for two, a cozy cottage for a small family.

Walk down to the water's edge, feel the privacy, be surprised by the quiet--see the seagulls and eagles soar, listen to the waves wash to the shore below, count the stars at night. It is amazing how many more you can see in this environment.

Let the water views from every corner of the cottage work their magic on you. Like sitting on water, see the sea gulls and cormorants welcome in the ferries, look for the eagles that soar overhead and be amazed by the speed of the osprey as it lands in front of you. Wake early to see the colors of the morning on the sea.

One of All Dream Cottages on Orcas Island, the surrounding land is part of the cottage experience. The cottage is grandfathered in, built closer to the water than county laws now permit. So there is nothing but water in front of you and the resident seal that comes to entertain. (also bunnies, deer -- on the waterfront!)

We appreciate our guests desire for a more romantic and private lodging experience. We strive to provide that cozy and intimate, yet comfortable space for our guests. Our Inn-Keeper does a complete prior to check-in walk through and leaves keys and a card with your name in the cottage so guests check themselves in. Given contact information, we send a complete confirmation with cottage details and driving instructions. Electronic devices and mapping are not reliable on island. Thus, we ask that you bring these instructions with you. Check in is at 4:00p.m.; check out at 11:00 a.m. Please call and leave us a message telling us that you have arrived safely.

1. We welcome children at Mariner's Dream. However, we ask that you understand that all of our cottages have been furnished and decorated to be "dream" homes away from home. Complete "child proofing" is not compatible with this decorating philosophy.
This property is "absolute" waterfront and while the deck is gated, it will require parents to exercise extra care.
2. Please do not feed the animals— mink, chipmunk, otter, raccoon, deer—no matter how “cute.” They like people.

Yes, the location is great for an early morning ferry. . . and, very true, the cottage is much better than sitting in the car waiting for the ferry (especially when it is later than scheduled!)

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Richard and Nanae (the owner) a message.

If Richard and Nanae (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
