Description from owner

Casa Barranco View is an old lovingly restored cortijo with 360-degree stunning views of the spectacular Sierra de las Estancias Mountains. It has the best elevated view of the Barranco valley, nestled under Piedra de Aguila (Eagle Rock with real eagles!) and is perfectly peaceful for relaxing away from the tourist crowds. The accommodation has a private solar heated swimming pool with the option of electric heating as well in autumn and spring. It is also an excellent base for exploring real Spain.

Very Good

“Thank you Heather and Peter”

Reviewed 26 Apr 2018

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The scenery is simply breathtaking and the peace one gets in the mountains is very relaxing The Casa itself is equipped with everything one could conceivably need for a stay. My wife forgot her hair straighteners but believe it or not, Heather came to the rescue with some straighteners and a shower cap. We never got to meet Peter who was back in the UK attending to some business, but Heather was an amazing host and through her her, one gets the feeling that Peter would be too. Thank you Heather for making our stay so relaxing. Thank you for your recommendations, particularly the lake near Baza. Simply stunning. All in all we have rather taken to Andalusia. It's a stunning part of the world, none more so than the mountains in which your Casa is situated. Thank you both very much.

Response from the owner Thanks for your review and for liking the scenery as much as us. You were delightful guests and we would love to welcome you back another time.

“Fantastic location, truly tranquil, great hosts , well worth a visit!”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2013

I have visited Casa Barranco on a number of occasions because my partner and I enjoy the tranquility of the location, it is peaceful and has beautiful surroundings. Casa Barranco is of a high quality accommodation that gives you a homely feeling. Every amenity you require is found in the accommodation and the hosts, Pete and Heather are always willing to help give you information on the area, they really encourage a Spanish lifestyle and are very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and offer advice on local places of interest. Having done a number of visits we have been to Granada and visited the Alambera Palace - definitely well worth a visit; the coast is only an hour's drive away and there are moany other places of interest. Definitely well worth a visit and there are four accessible airports, Alicante, Murcia, Granada and Almeria, all close to a motorway.

“Superb place to relax and chill in beautiful setting”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2013

Set in the mountains with its own pool, this is a superb property with lots of space and very good facilities. A great place to chill, relax, walk, swim, enjoy the wildlife, flora and fauna. The hosts make the place - very hospitable, friendly knowledgable, and helpful. Excellent value for money. Nearby is the charming village of Oria. This year will be our fifth visit! Strongly recommended.

“A peaceful stay in rural Spain”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2013

Casa Barranco was the ideal location for a break from normal routine. The house was extremely comfortable and equipped with everything we could conceivably need. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by the pool, enjoying the spectacular views. It was wonderful to float in the water watching eagles circling overhead. Heather and Pete are perfect hosts, friendly and helpful but never intrusive. If you are looking for a peaceful break in rural Spain, we can not recommend this property highly enough. We certainly intend to return!

“Lovely casa, great hosts”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2013

We had a delightful break in Oria. The casa was authentic Spannish style with all modern amenities, spacious and beautifully clean. Pete and Heath were perfect hosts - readily available when we needed advice on where to visit, and also provided us with privacy and freedom to enjoy the casa. Beautiful views of sunrise and lovely memories of that glass of red by the pool at sunset!
