Location Description
The village of Guardea is situated two kilometers from the villa. Here are all the necessary shops for shopping: a supermarket, grocer, butcher, and market. There are several restaurants in the vicinity using the freshest meats, olive oils, and wine from the local region. One of Italy’s most beautiful hill towns, Orvieto, is less than twenty minutes away. Perched on top of a large volcanic rock formation with sheer vertical cliffs, Orvieto yields some of the best views in Europe. The town has many shops, cafes, and restaurants. The famous Gothic Duomo dates back to the 13th century and features a beautiful façade and interiors. Visit the papal palace, Etruscan ruins, and embark on a guided tour of one of the villages many underground caves. Be sure to purchase a bottle of Orvieto’s famous Classico wine! (10 hectares/25 acres) Made of local stone, this 100 year old Umbrian villa was completely rebuilt and renovated just two years ago. Lovingly adorned with wood carvings, from the donkey on the wooden gate, to the myriad of animal carvings within the villa, this villa is unique. It is located within a large park of about 25 acres, in a panoramic position overlooking the Tiber River and the Alviano Oasis. The surrounding park is covered in trees, plants, flowers, and has many resident deer, goats, and donkeys. A landscaped garden around the villa has multiple areas for lounging and dining al fresco. The villa’s swimming pool and spa services are located indoors, but with sliding doors that open fully to the outside. The facilities include a heated (upon prior request), salt water swimming pool, a heated Hydromassage Jacuzzi SPA tub, a spa with a tropical shower and Turkish bath, and a bathroom.
