Description from owner

La Boulaie

Is a self catering cottage with gardens and a private swimming pool - with excellent facilities it's just like home from home but being situated in the countryside in a small hamlet between Vernoil Le Fourrier and Parcay Les Pins it's easy to find yourself immerged in the relaxed French way of life. The cottage (gite) sits in a little hamlet just outside the villages with 2 bedrooms with kingsized beds (one en suite wet room), fully equipped kitchen, separate dining room and family bathroom. The lounge has a beautiful exposed beamed ceiling and enticing fireplace with a log burning fire.

The cottage is within a short walking distance of Parcay for fresh baked bread from the Boulangerie, tabacs (bar/cafe) and has a convenience store for any items you may have forgotten. Whilst in the village of Vernoil you will find a pharmacy, vets, butchers, bakery, hairdressers, tabacs and larger supermarket. For a more vibrant night life, Saumur is within easy driving distance for a superb choice of restaurants, local markets and shops you would expect to find in a busy town centre.

“A well positioned cottage - ideal for lots of fabulous cycling on virtually car free roads!”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2017

We had a great 2 weeks - easy to find and pre arrival information was helpful without being intrusive. Darren, the caretaker, was easy to contact on arrival and was friendly and helpful. The gite has everything you need and is near a lovely bakers. We loved the market at Langeais and fell in love with the town too, I wish it had been nearer! We did lots of cycling and loved the cycle friendly roads. Bourgeuil was pretty too as was the chateau at Azay le Rideau. The pool was great to dip into every night after a long cycle. We will be back to this area most definitely - Loved it!

Response from the owner Many thanks for your review Judith, glad you enjoyed your stay at La Boulaie! Rebecca

“Great place for visiting the Loire”

Reviewed 16 May 2017

The property is on a quiet country road, just outside the village of Parcay-les-pins. It was very clean and tidy with good sized rooms. There was a swimming pool, but we didn't use it as the weather was changeable. Excellent facilities in the property. Property manager Darren was very helpful.

Response from the owner Many thanks for your kind review and am glad you enjoyed your stay at La Boulaie! Kind regards Rebecca

“Beautiful little gite in a lovely location”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2016

We stayed at this gite for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was met by Darren who showed us round. The pool was lovely as the weather was beautiful. Would definitely stay here again.

“Lovely rural gite”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2016

La Boulaie is a very well equipped rural property. On the edge of the village, but comfortable walking distance from the local shops. For a rural property it has excellent broadband, should you need it for local research..We were not blessed with good weather on our visit, but the gite made a welcome refuge from the thunderstorms. Had the weather permitted we would have made use of the pool and its surroundings. It was lovely just to wake to the sound of birdsong and the neighbours chickens. Good walking from the property around the local lanes for our dog and forest trails trails to follow nearby in Courleon. The Loire and its chateau's are are short distance to the south.. Would happily return and rent this property again.

I would highly recommend this gite for a relaxing family holiday, lovely accommodation, with private heated swimming pool, really relaxing surroundings with plenty of places to visit nearby. I'll be rebooking for next year.

“A real home from home in a tucked away tranquil setting”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2015

Enjoyed a weeks long stay in this lovely gite. Very well equipped accommodation in a private location, but within walking distance of a well stocked shop and patisserie. The pool was excellent - very private and a decent size to have a swim. Perfect for exploring the Loire Valley.

“Excellent gite in a perfect location to explore the Loire Valley”

A lovely gite, clean, well looked after with an excellent pool which is very private. We took our dog and so had lots of walks in the immediate area as well as other locations and thoroughly enjoyed the countryside. Local people were very friendly.

“Charming gite in a beautiful quiet setting”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2013

This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a quiet, restful location with many fun attractions and day trips a short drive away. The interior is beautifully fitted and very well equiped, especially in the kitchen and the living room. For us the main highlight was the pool which was securely fenced off from the rest of the generous garden making it very safe for our toddler to run around.

“A beautiful peaceful place to stay”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2013

A lovely house, bigger than expected set in large gardens surrounded by peaceful country side (very relaxing). A clean & well equipped kitchen, large lounge & dining area, four stayed & it was plenty big enough for us all. It was too cold to use the pool during our stay, however the pool area looked inviting. A short walk into the village for fresh bread/ shop/ bar was a great way to start the day. The photo’s don’t do it justice, we had a lovely time. Thank you for all your help with advice re where to go/ eat etc.
