This 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cottage is nestled among the tall pines of Horseshoe Lake, an easy 2 hour drive from Toronto. Extensive decking on both side of the building allows for relaxing outdoors and taking in the beautiful Muskoka surroundings.

The cottage features a fully equipped kitchen on the main floor which leads to the living room/dining room area with large picture windows allowing a view of the majestic pines and the sparkling lake below. This "great" room is very spacious and airy, with a cathedral ceiling, and a view into the upstairs level. A 2 piece bathroom is located off the kitchen. A bedroom with twin beds is located off the living room. Two separate patio doors lead onto the surrounding deck and the outdoor eating area, where you will find the BBQ, outdoor dining table and chairs.

The upstairs level is a loft type story which overlooks the living room area and features two bedrooms as well as the main 4-piece bathroom. The first bedroom is spacious and contains twin beds and a patio door leading to the upper-level deck off the bedrooms. The 4 piece modern bathroom is located upstairs between the two bedrooms. Next is the master bedroom containing a Queen size 4-poster bed and a door which leads to the outdoor deck.

This cottage sits quite high off the lake and blends naturally into the Canadian Shield with lots of natural granite. Wooden stairs lead you down to the dock where the delights of Horseshoe Lake await you. The shoreline is rocky and drops off quickly to deep water, so swimming is off the dock. The ladder and deep water make it perfect for practicing diving skills. Southwest exposure allows for all day sunshine on the dock. A bench is sitting in the shade on the waterfront deck for the non-sun lovers, and the Muskoka chairs can be moved to be in or out of the sun. A canoe is provided for your use, as well as a kayak, and boat rentals are available from the Horseshoe Lake Marina. The cottage is situated in a narrow bay away from most boat traffic, and the water is usually very calm.

The town of Parry Sound is 15 minutes away and provides grocery stores, liquor stores, pharmacies and a hospital. Parry Sound offers boat cruises, seaplane rides and restaurants. The cottage is also close to several golf courses, and to the Seguin Trail which is popular with hikers and ATV’s.

As the cottage sits high off the water, there are quite a few stairs leading to the waterfront, and this cottage would not be suitable to families with mobility issues, young children or the elderly.

Note: We do not have a TV or VCR. This is by design. We have games, books, cards, music, and like to spend our evenings with these, rather than watching TV. We want this to feel like a different place from our city home.

RATES: we offer you a weekly rental of a FULL week FRIDAY to FRIDAY for $1700 with the possibility of tacking on a few days BEFORE the first Friday for $220/night. Please contact us for any other dates or questions.

Dogs allowed subject to approval - a $40 fee per rental will apply. Bedding (sheets) are available if necessary at $10 per bed.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Debra (the owner) a message.

If Debra (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
