Christmas decorated for 2022. Snowed on 12/12/22-12/14/22. The road does get plowed. Snow shovel and 2 sleds in laundry rm. 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8), 2 Fireplaces, Cabin Across the Street from the East Verde River nestled in the cool Pines: 5,300 ft. elevation 10 miles NE of Payson in Whispering Pines. Public access down street at wet bridge. Fly fish for trout & small-mouth bass. Cabin Sleeps Eight (1 queen, 2 full, 2 twin). Linen & towels furnished. WIFI, Blu-Ray, NetFlix, and Netbook Computer. Fully Equipped Kitchen & Laundry room w/ washer & dryer, Cabin Decor (Trout, Elk & Bear Rm). Living room w/leather sectional, 1 recliner. Custom Kitchen Table & Fireplace Mantels made of Juniper. Gas grill & Fire ring. For the fishing enthusiast: 2 fly tying tables, a fishing rod holder inside & wader hanger outside. Dog friendly (up to 2 good dogs) For hunters: Excellent Elk & Turkey hunting w/ Tonto National Forestry access less than 1/4 mile from cabin. In greatroom, 42 inch Phillips flatscreen LCD HDTV with Blue Ray player, Free Netflix, Ruko w/ smart TV like youtube, Direct TV w/ NFL and HBO..

Fireplace firewood is provided only in winter season for 2 fireplaces (one in kitchen and other in greatroom). Fire ring firewood (pine) is sometimes stacked near fire ring, but is NOT guaranteed. We are unable to restock fire wood for guest stays except winter season since it is over $300 a cord and there has been some miss use, but it may be collected (for Free) in nearby Tonto National Forest for 'small camp fires for free'. There are many places they have thinned the forest and any cut or downed trees can be taken. You can also purchase bundles at the local gas stations, Home Depot, Walmart, grocery stores, etc... in Payson. We have 4 ceramic heaters. One on each floor. Feel free to place them where you want. (They use much less electricity than baseboard heat.) When you arrive at cabin, if the ceramic heaters are not enough, please turn on baseboard heaters until you have time to light fireplaces. There is one located in bathroom and Bear room downstairs and a thermostat at top of stairs on the left side of wall for the living room. There is one in the Elk room too. Also, the fireplace dampers/flutes are closed. Before starting fires please look up and pull the black bar forward to you to open so fire smoke goes up chimney. If one fireplace is not in use keep that damper closed so smoke from the other fireplace doesn't reenter home because the chimney stacks are next to each other. From our and other guests it is best to place firewood as far back from front as possible to encourage smoke up flute and when first lighting it to heat up the chimney stack with a firestarter stick (not able to keep firestarter log/sticks stocked at cabin. Please bring. Have long matches though). These are just tricks you may already know. When the fire is out its best to close flute as soon as possible, because when the chimney stack cools down it can drive cold smoky air in. If that happens, just open the windows and run the ceiling fans. Note: They are on winter setting.

Fishing licenses can be purchased at the camping, hunting, outdoor sports counter of Walmart in Payson. Even in the winter, there is hold over trout at the 1st and 2nd wet bridges. They are the smarter ones that lasted thru the angler season so they are spooky, but if you catch one you are the master! A honey hole document for fishing hot spots will be sent with directions and cabin keyless entry code a day or 2 prior to stay.

Please indicate on your inquiry whether you have a dog or 2. There is a flat rate fee for 1 good dog= $50 per stay and 2 good dogs= $75 per stay.

This is a no smoking property inside. Please follow all local forestry restrictions for outside as the drought meter changes from green to red depending on local conditions and weather.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Charlie (the owner) a message.

If Charlie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
