Within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the barns sits within a 25 acre farm in an area of idyllic countryside, offering you a peaceful luxury retreat. Medlars Barn once a dairy, has fantastic far reaching views across green fields and the enchanting countryside, yet it's only a stones throw from some wonderful attractions in this bountiful area.

Living

Medlars has a great, light and airy feel due to the 2 sets of large patio doors that allow sunlight to flood in and showcase the cracking views of rolling countryside. Inside there are vaulted ceilings with beams, comfy sofas to curl up on, a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings in, a TV and lots of books and games to keep everyone occupied.

The kitchen area is light and spacious with seating for four and includes a dishwasher and washing machine.

Sleeping

Both the bedrooms are en suite; the master bedroom with vaulted ceiling and double bed. The second bedroom is a twin room with a vaulted, beamed ceiling.

Outside

A garden area and terrace provides an ideal setting for alfresco meals & BBQs on hazy summer days. As evenings draw in, snuggle in around the fire pit for story-telling and enjoy family time wrapped in blankets toasting marshmallows.

Parking for 2 cars

Well behaved dogs are very welcome with prior notification, please do not allow them in the bedrooms or on furniture. Dogs must also be kept on leads on the farm and must not be left unattended. A £35 charge per dog, is payable upon arrival.

Medlars is just one of 3 holiday barns on the farm, when 2 or all 3 are booked they can accommodate 8 -14 guests.

We sell our farm produce, including sausages, pork, lamb and eggs, just ask us for more info.

Attractions

Nearby Rye, with its medieval buildings, cobbled streets and quaint charm is an excellent place to explore. Discover its ancient inns, tempting restaurants and little boutique shops.

A landscape full of wildlife, to be enjoyed all year long is found at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Further down the coast is Camber Sands, an expanse of soft, sandy beach that stretches for seven miles and boasts a half-a-mile width at low tide. Winchelsea beach is an all year round dog friendly beach with cobbles and sand.

Hastings Country Park offers stunning views and walks and is dog friendly all year.

Or be inspired by creative planting and old-fashioned roses in the glorious gardens of Great Dixter and Pashley Manor, or visit historic buildings such as Batemans, home to Rudyard Kipling, Chartwells and Lamb House.

We loved the location on a farm with great views. We enjoyed the animals particularly the handsome cockerel and his harem .We got out and about despite the rain and the accommodation was very cosy.

The location is amazing. Dog facilities excellent with an enclosed area for them to run safely. We could not of asked for more.

Why can't I call Fiona (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Fiona (the owner) a message.

If Fiona (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
