The gite, part of a converted stone farmhouse, is set in a tranquil location, at the end of a private drive just a few miles outside the village of Pellegrue. It is an ideal base for couples and family holidays.
The property is situated in the Entre-deux-Mers region, part of the Bordeaux wine producing area and has wonderful views overlooking vines, fields and woodland. The large enclosed garden is maintained to a high standard. Though peaceful, Pellegrue and other local villages are within easy reach, each providing shops, supermarkets, boulangeries, banks and traditional weekly markets.
Every care has been taken to retain the character and original features of the house and each room is tastefully decorated and furnished, providing everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The saltwater pool equipped with a solar shower is for the exclusive use of visitors. The pool benefits from some of the best views the property has to offer.

The main entrance to the gite leads from a stone-walled terrace with wisteria covered pergola, into a spacious and well lit dining room/lounge with flat screen television (UK channels), DVD player, CD player and internet access. Every room has a wonderful view over the garden, a vineyard beyond and woodland in the distance.
The kitchen which overlooks the garden and pool, is well equipped with oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave oven.
A separate utility room provides a washing machine, ironing facilities, sink, freezer, storage space and rowing machine.
The master bedroom is situated on the ground floor with an en-suite shower room with wash-basin and wc.
On the first floor, there is a twin bedded room and a second shower room with wash-basin and wc.
On the same level, a spacious mezzanine contains sleeping capacity for two people, or just an ideal snug area in which to relax or read.
The price includes bedlinen, bathroom towels, bath mats and tea towels, but please bring your own pool /beach towels. For fortnightly bookings or more, clean bedlinen and towels are offered weekly.
There are no hidden costs regarding electricity and water consumption.
An end of let cleaning service may be arranged, to ensure your holiday ends on a relaxed note.
Guests visiting outside the peak season have the comfort of full central heating (gas) at an additional cost, by prior arrangement with the owners.

The property is set in a large well maintained garden containing shrubs, trees and extensive lawn areas for making the most of the sunshine.
Guests have exclusive use of the private 9mx5m saltwater swimming pool (both shallow and deep end), which is equipped with a reglementary safety alarm.
The pool has a sizeable paved sun terrace, which provides a large parasol and sunloungers for every visitor. The pool can be seen from the dining terrace, kitchen and upper floor and has lovely panoramic views to be enjoyed.
A ping pong table is set in the lawn and an adjacent field may be used for ball games.
Wildlife to be seen and heard from the terraces may include deer, birds of prey, and the numerous house martins that are present in summer.
The stone walled dining terrace is equipped with garden furniture and is shaded by a pergola supporting wisterias that show an abundance of flowers in the spring. A gravel path leads off from this terrace to a fixed featured BBQ, set in the lawn.
Both the terrace, pool and garden areas offer complete privacy for guests to enjoy throughout their stay.
Changeover day
The changeover day is Saturday and you are welcome from 4pm onwards. The property must be vacated by 10am on your final day. Extra cleaning if required, can be organised but at a £50 charge.
Conditions
30% deposit is required at the time of boking, accompanied by a completed Booking Form which will be forwarded to you.
A refundable breakage/damage deposit of £300 is also due at the time of booking. This will be fully refunded within two weeks of your leaving the house (subject to a satisfactory property inspection).
A compulsory Tourist Tax of 1,10 euros per person per night applies over the age of 18. Details will be included on the Booking Form sent to you, should you wish to make a reservation.
The balance is due 8 weeks before your stay commenceswhich may be paid by PayPal, cheque or Travellers cheques.
All bedlinen and towels are supplied, but please bring your own beach/pool towels.
In low season, gas central heating is available at an aditional cost, by prior arrangement with the owners. The amount is deducted from the security deposit.
For the comfort and safety of all our guests, there is a no smoking policy on the property and sorry, but we are not able to accept animals.
