The space
Mango Tree Inn is located in a mango grove near the sea, and the ocean sounds can be softly heard from your room. The room is very clean, set in a tranquil garden, with a paranomic mountain view background. The location is in the heart of Pemuteran, as we are within walking distance of many mini markets and restaurants (The best pizza place in Bali? It's just a 2-minute walk from the room) and the beach (a 4-minute walk away) is excellent for swimming and snorkeling. Breakfast is provided during your stay and is mostly made with ingredients from local farmers. And you're welcome to come to our house to refill your water bottles with filtered water from the local temple. Please note that there is a Rp 10,000 per day per person charge for this. Your room has air conditioning and hot showers. The artistic private bathroom is open-air with a bamboo shower, natural stone sink and walls, ceramic floor, towel hooks, generous sized towels, soap, plants along inside wall, and an outside frangipani tree view. The sink's counter top was created from one of our mango trees that was sacrificed for the Inn's building. And the light on your terrace? It's recycled wood from a forest tree who's life was taken from termites. We use low-wattage light bulbs and energy-efficient water heaters. We collect cans and bottles and give them to a local person who resells them for money. Our roof was built from coconut wood, a sustainable and fast-growing material, and our fence is from the very sustainable bamboo. Towels are washed with natural, locally made laundry soap and are dried using the sun, not an electric dryer. The bathroom soap supplied to you is locally crafted from natural ingredients, and is mango scented :) And...all food scraps are given to the neighbor's chickens. The room itself is furnished with king-size bed (or 2 twins) with fresh sheets and mattress pad/protector (something many small places here don't have), 2 bedside tables, mosquito net, 2 locally carved reading lights, closet with hangers and hanging space, personal safety deposit box, air conditioning, desk/table and chairs, clothes drying rack, umbrella if needed, and gorgeous walls finished with sand...giving an elegantly natural look. The tropical garden has various plants and flowers, trees, fountain with fish, and Mango Trees of course!
