Description

Bryn Hedd is a notable Victorian villa built in 1850 and a former holiday home of William Gladstone - British Prime Minister on four occasions. The Balcony apartment at Bryn Hedd features, as you might imagine, a fabulous 20 Sqm Balcony with fabulous views over the Menai Sraits to Penmon, Anglesey and beyond. It's a focal point for any holiday and a wonderful feature from which to literally drink in the view and perhaps cook a BBQ after a day on the beach or walking the Carneddau mountains that overlook Penmaenmawr.

The size of the balcony is however typical of the space and grandeur that characterise this accommodation - one of only two apartments that make up the whole of the first floor of Bryn Hedd. Holiday makers benefit from a huge lounge with three three seater sofas, two very large bedrooms, a substantial kitchen diner, spacious entrance hall and three bathrooms; one full ensuite, one ensuite with w/c and basin and one beautiful master bathroom with claw foot bath, stripped

There is even a separate utility space with washer dryer, belfast sink and extra storage

Without the benefit of professional photography it is impossible to adequately represent the size and scale of this apartment (and the balcony!) We will be doing this in the spring as we get things ready for the summer season. We still haven't finished sourcing and or repairing all of our wall decor and some other finishing touches but in the meantime the property is now available for minimum stays of two nights or more. We can accommodate up to nine with a camp bed and two pull out single mattresses (These can be seen in the second bedroom)

The property is above that of the owner (my Dad) and has a communal entrance via the beautiful hallway and original oak staircase of Bryn Hedd. It is therefore not suitable for excessive partying!

In addition there is plenty of parking available within the private grounds of Bryn Hedd as well as a shared secluded garden with purpose built barbeque and pizza oven. The property is located a short walk (from 5 -15 minutes) from the village centre, beach and Snowdonia National park. If you wish to stay local during your vacation you can enjoy the antique shops and restaurants of Penmaenmawr's restored village centre or the wide sandy beach ideal for walking, bathing, sailing or fishing or explore Snowdonia national park and quickly find yourself in the stunning wilderness of the Carneddau mountain range (much quieter than the Snowdon area). It is possible to walk over the mountains to the beautiful harbour town of Conway in just over two hours or even along the beach when the tide is out. The less energetic can drive in ten minutes or take the bus or do what I do which is walk there and take the bus back to Penmaenmawr after enjoying Conwy's fabulous pubs and restaurants. In fact because of Penmaenmawr's coastal location on the main train and bus route along the North Wales coast you could enjoy a holiday here without the need of a car! Great train links from Manchester, Chester and Liverpool to Llandudno Junction and to Pen itself (a request stop!). If you wish to travel further afield Penmaenmawr is an ideal base from which to explore North Wales. I like to think of Anglesey as my front garden and Snowdonia as my back garden. In little more than half an hour you can drive to Anglesey, or the heart of Snowdonia (Betws y Coed or Llanberis) or be enjoying the shopping in genteel Llandudno. Driving an hour or more will see you on the magical Llyn Peninsular or Southern Snowdonia around Dolgellau or Port Merion. The range of attractions that this whole area offers is without compare in England and Wales. Think of all the benefits of Cornwall and the Lake District combined without the hassle of getting to Scotland (unless of course you live there!) and you have an idea of what the whole of North Wales has to offer. This list is by no means exhaustive. Fishing Sailing Walking Climbing Rambling Rafting Kayaking Surfing Canyoning Coasteering Paracending Paragliding Parasurfing Windsurfing Power Boating Fell Running (madness) Mountain Biking Caravanning Camping Free Camping. Anyway I'm sure anyone looking for a place to stay in North Wales is aware of all this.

Golf - There are some great links courses along the coast - Conway being the nearest. Penmaenmawr has an excellent half course however (certainly less than half an hour walk) and the whole area is rather underrated according to a group of American Golf tourists who I met in Conway some years ago.

We have two or three mountain bikes available for use if requested. We accept no liability for any eventuality whilst in use or their condition.
