Architect designed and operating since 2006, SeaShells Penneshaw is situated on the third level of the town's historic beach homes with panoramic views overlooking Hog Bay and across Backstairs Passage to the mainland coastline. The holiday rental facilities are fully furnished, modern, clean and comfortable. The layout of the rooms and living spaces are simple, well connected and functional. All rooms have ample windows so guests may enjoy plenty of natural light during the day our close them over with blinds and curtains at night.
Facing north to the ocean at the front of the house with the Karatta Reserve to the back guests enjoy relaxed, contemporary accommodation all within easy walking distance to the white sand beach of Hog Bay and at the same time, be among trees, wallabies, birds and other wildlife. The ferry terminal and town centre are less than a kilometre away.
SeaShells Penneshaw is an Australian accredited tourism business and has been independently assessed by AAA Tourism as achieving a four star rating for self catering accommodation.
The layout of SeaShells Penneshaw permits rooms to be made available to best suit the mix and number of guests staying at the time. Your specific needs are determined at the time a booking is confirmed.
The basic configuration, BlueSeas, accommodates up to six guests that includes an open planned living, dining room and kitchen plus a well equipped laundry, separate toilet, bathroom and has three bedrooms comprising a queen, double and bunk beds. The living area is equipped with full width folding glass doors that open onto a roofed deck facing the ocean. Split system air-conditioning (heating and cooling) serves the living, dining and kitchen areas. The entertainment centre has a 42" LCD digital television coupled with a Bose sound system that also incorporates a radio, CD and DVD player. The kitchen incorporates a fridge/freezer, ceramic hotplates, an oven, microwave, double bowl sink and a dishwasher. All crockery, cutlery and cookware are provided. The laundry has a washing machine, wash trough, clothes dryer and cupboard with ironing board, iron, broom/mop and vacuum cleaner.
For up to eight guests (or depending on the mix of guests) an additional sitting room, utility alcove, queen bed and second bathroom is made available. These additional facilities are named GreenSeas. The bedroom has a deck facing Karatta Reserve. The sitting room has split system air conditioning (heating and cooling), 40" LCD digital television and a CD/DVD player. The utility alcove has a microwave, single sink and an under counter refrigerator.
All bedrooms have built in wardrobes, mirrors, side dressers, case racks (except for the bunk bedroom), clock radio and ceiling fans. The Bathrooms are equipped with exhaust fans and heat lamps, are fully tiled and have vanities and generous showers.
All pillows, bed linen and towels are supplied. A babies cot and two highchairs are available upon request at no additional cost. Free WiFi is also available.
Your hosts Raelene and Ian live on the site and are therefore able to meet and greet guests as they arrive and say farewell upon departure. Their presence, whilst unobtrusive, affords guests an extra measure of security, assists in providing local knowledge and information and all helps to make your stay as enjoyable and as comfortable as possible. With prior notice, we will meet you at the ferry to guide you to our property or pick you up upon arrival and drop you off for departure at the Penneshaw ferry terminal if you travel to the island without a car.
