From the owner

Courtneys Studio Lodge is surrounded by 10 acres of beautiful grounds with stunning views out towards Dartmoor and surrounding countryside. The Lodge has its own small walled garden (not totally enclosed) to retain the views. A perfect place to relax in the sunshine with a glass of wine at the end of a day. We have exceptionally dark skies here at night, making star gazing something very special indeed.

The Lodge has open plan living - kitchen (with full size electric cooker and fridge freezer) dining table, lounge area with TV and full size wall bed which returns into the specially designed fitted cupboard, if you require more space. The en-suite bathroom has an electric shower. Free wi-fi.

We are located 1/2 miles outside Pensilva village where there is a general store, selling fresh local produce, newspapers, cigarettes and alcohol. If you go to the top of the village (approx 1.5 miles) you will find yourself on Bodmin Moor where you will see the moorland cattle, ponies and sheep that are free to wander. A fabulous Farm Shop and Cafe here too.

Very central location for travelling around Cornwall. Nearest beach 7 miles, Eden Project 15 miles, Plymouth 18 miles, Truro 35 miles

    We live adjacent to the Lodge and happy to be as interactive as you wish. However, unless asked, we keep out of the way for you to enjoy the privacy and beautiful space around the Lodge. The walled garden is for your sole use. It is a lovely sun trap and takes in the last of the sun's rays. Table & chairs provided.

    One Dog welcome provided they are not left unattended in the lodge. We have a small wooded walk which make a lovely short walk. We do however have horses and chickens here so do expect any visiting dog to be kept under strict control or on a lead please. Nearest dog friendly beach (Downderry) 20 mins drive - highly recommended!

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

    How do I cancel my booking?

    Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

    How do I edit my booking?

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jacquie (the owner) a message.

    If Jacquie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
