The house is on three floors, in the corner of a quiet village square, and attached to a medieval arch. The medieval wall of the old castle forms part of the downstairs cantina. It has three balconies and space outside for sitting, views over the piazza and easy parking. The village is surrounded by wooded hills and farmland, and is ideal for walking and gathering wild asparagus or mushrooms in season. Swallows roost in the adjoining buildings and wild boar may be sighted in the fields and woods. A holiday in the depth of the countryside, yet less than an hour of many of the most beautiful hill towns in Umbria, and two hours from Florence and Rome. The local town, Marsciano, 20 minutes away, is ideal for shopping: supermarkets, weekly market, restaurants and bars.
