Southcott Cottage is a beautiful cottage set within an Organic Apple Orchard and 19 Acres of parkland. Close to one of the White horses in Wiltshire, it is ideal for people who like walks or just a simple break away. The cottage is an 8 minute walk from the village, which has a direct train to Paddington and other fantastic facilities on tap.
The property has 5 bedrooms in total. 3 Upstairs One Master Super King with en suite and 2 further bedrooms ( one single which can be extended to a double and one Super King which can separate into twins) serviced by a family bathroom and 2 bedrooms downstairs 1 Super King en suite bedroom and a smaller single with a pull out trundle.
Southcott cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing & peaceful break in the English countryside but is also within easy reach of many tourist attractions including Stonehenge, Avebury & Salisbury.
The cottage is set within Parkland and adjacent to a Grade 2 listed manor house (Southcott Manor) and an original Tithe thatched barn. It is very much the perfect break away for some R and R and is a home away from home. We have comfortable beds, good quality bedlinen and towels and a well equipped kitchen. The owners live in the main house next door.
The property is surrounded by 19 Acres and great public footpaths. The village of Pewsey, 5 minutes walk away has 5 great pubs, lovely bijoux shops and much more. The train is an added bonus enabling great access to London and the South West. There is also a good bus service to Salisbury and Marlborough.
The cottage is child friendly and access to a trampoline (no net) and other toys. Wifi is available
There is a large trampoline, football net and resident Guinnea fowl. When there are spare vegetables from the garden, we will put a selection in the cottage fridge for your arrival (please note this is seasonal!)
The village of Pewsey is in the Pewsey Vale - the village is totally surrounded by countryside and there are lots of places to walk or bicycle. The Pewsey Avon trail starts 2 minutes away and follows the course from Pewsey to Salisbury following the River Avon.
The beautiful village of Marlborough is 7 miles away with a feast of activities on offer. A full Summer course programme, Clay Pigeon shooting, Golf and more.
The Cottage is ideal for families with Children at Marlborough College who want a close bolt hole for exeats and half term. For historical lovers Stonehenge is 30 min drive away.
The village has lots of great local pubs. The Royal Oak has just been renovated in the village. For Gastro lovers there is the Seven Stars at Bottlesford, The Red Lion, East Chisenbury, and the Harrow, Little Bedwyn. All do excellent food - Both the Red Lion and the Harrow have Michelin pub awards for food and are well known Wiltshire pubs which people come a long way to visit.

Further Details Indoor: Bedrooms: 3 bedrooms are situated upstairs and 2 bedroom are situated downstairs. The main bedroom is a Super king sized bed. The other bedroom upstairs is a Super King sized bed which can be made into 2 singles on request. The third bedroom is a single.The bedroom downstairs is a Super King Sized bed ensuite and then an additional single room. All beds have good quality 'White Company' linen or similar.
Bathrooms: The main bedroom upstairs has a large ensuite bathroom with both a shower and bath. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and overhead Shower. The downstairs en suite has both a bath and Shower. Large bath towels are provided.
Sitting Room: The sitting room houses 2 large 3 seater sofas. A flat screen tv and ipod dock.
Kitchen/Dining Room: The kitchen area is open plan with a large Orangery attached. The space has been renovated to a very high standard. Limestone floors and a fun hybrid of old meets new. The kitchen is well equipped with all electrical appliances you would expect. There is an electric oven and gas hob. Good quality cutlery and tableware are provided as well as a wide selection of glasses, jugs etc. Basic kitchen essentials like cling film, kitchen paper, kitchen foil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee etc are provided in the cupboards. The space is incredibly light and refreshing.
Outside Terrace. The terrace is south west facing and is a paved area for sitting in the sun and relaxing. The views are tranquil and you may see on the odd occasion the resident Guinness fowl or monk jacks passing by.

The cottage sits within lovely Parkland. A walk past the garden takes you to the next part of the garden where there is an organic Apple Orchard and a lawn with trampoline.
Entry time into the cottage on arrival day is 3pm and exit on day of leaving is 10am. However we are open to flexibility if we can.
To guarantee a late check out an additional fee would be applicable and charged at half a days rate.
40% deposit it taken on booking and remainder 4 weeks before arrival.
A cleaning fee of £80 is added to each booking.
