Wheelhouse Cottage is one of nine cottages within Keld Head Farm Cottages. Each cottage is individually designed and created from a group of traditional stone built barns set around a secluded courtyard. Much of the original character and features have been retained and the cottages have open beamed ceilings, traditional stone fireplaces, pan tile roofs, full central heating and double-glazing. The cottages each have their own charm and vary from single, two storey to "upside down" and will comfortably accommodate from 2 up to 8 people.
Cottages rest in open countryside on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park (Heartbeat & Harry Potter country) but only twenty minutes walk from the centre of the picturesque market town of Pickering
The cottages have been created with the emphasis on comfort and are spacious, tastefully decorated and fitted out with coordinated quality fabrics. Three cottages have four-poster beds. The kitchens have traditional pine units and are fully equipped, including filter coffee maker, toaster, conventional and microwave ovens, fridge freezer and some have dishwashers and washing machine.
Nestling between Yorkshires scenic heritage coast of Filey, Scarborough, Whitby, and the Historic City of York, Pickering has good local pubs serving real ale and tasty regional dishes. It boasts a superb indoor swimming pool along with its famous Medieval castle and North York Moors Steam railway.
During your stay relax on spectacular rolling hills with heather clad moorland, woodland and forest or visit some of the finest stately homes, castles, museums, theme parks, zoo, working farms and breweries or be energetic, go horse riding, quad biking, play golf or fish.
