Despina Villa is a stone's throw from the beach as well as offering easy access to shops, cafes and restaurants. A Mediterranean family villa, it's ideal as a base to explore the coast and island from. It's also within walking distance of lively Platanias Centre where cafes, restaurants, bars and shops abound, and even a club or two.

Water sports are available in nearby Agia Marina village and Platanias village. A hire car is not necessary but can be arranged locally if wanted for a few days' exploration of the island. Modern, efficient air-conditioned public transport runs every 20 minutes linking the coastal villages to East and West and historical Chania Town, making village-hopping easy and home-coming easier after a night on your feet.

Three balconies with tables and chairs offer views over the village, over roof tops towards the sea and over a young olive grove to the south side of the villa. The outdoor swimming pool offers a welcome opportunity for a family splash together in the morning before the beach, or in the evening after a day's shopping. Mature palms and a banana tree in the garden provide some welcome shade on the sun-drenched pool-side terrace at the hottest time of day. The barbecue on the pool terrace means eating in doesn't have to be dull. Mini-market, shops, cafes, tavernas and bars are within 10 minutes' walk. Beach is 7-10 minutes' walk.

Why can't I call Lefteris (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lefteris (the owner) a message.

If Lefteris (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
