Very unfortunate situation. This guest tried everything to obtain a "free" stay with us. Security Deposit taken - $300. Deposit kept fairly for the electric bill and one of the two blenders the guest broke. Kept $117 and returned the balance. We also fixed the curtains they broke and did not charge it back. The guest then fought paypal and somehow received $500 back from his deposit (which was only $300 and most of that returned after fair bill). This stay cost us dearly (in money, stress and time). We have video documentation of the disgusting mess left behind. One of our staff quit immediately after this stay, from having such a stressful month and being yelled at, and disrespected by guest. To other owners and property managers: please take note of this guest name, and I highly recommend to not receive them.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Panama Sarah (the owner) a message.

If Panama Sarah (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
