Work Remotely in the comfort of air conditioning with the best views in Samara - from a private office I just opened to guests of this condo to use. High-speed 200mb free wireless wifi internet with a designated access point delivers a solid internet connection 24/7 that you can confidently work from. This condo interacts with the other condos in that it is on the third floor in a four-story building. The fourth floor has Condo Dahlia but the front section of the fourth floor is the called the Congo Lounge and it is open to all guests. There are tables, chairs, sofas, and hammocks, as well as amazing views, ocean breezes, and howler monkeys hanging from the nearby trees! Alta Vista Condominiums is in the Smara neighborhood of Cangrejal, on the north end of the bay of Smara. Cangrejal is a Costa Rican neighborhood, an old fishing village, and is very quiet with no loud music or bars. There is a great casual restaurant in Cangrejal called "La Perla" which offers great healthy local cuisine at reasonable prices. Two blocks away from Alta Vista is a popular grocery store named "La Iguana Verde", which doubles as a liquor store. Before you arrive, please message Hilda & Patrick using the Airbnb messenger with your arrival time. It will help to exchange phone numbers at that point so you can call Hilda when you pass through Nicoya on your way to Samara. Nicoya is 50 minutes away and lets Hilda know your exact arrival time. When you pull up, you will see the sign on the front door: Alta Vista Condominiums, and the four-story building. If youve called us from Nicoya, well be waiting to open the parking gate for you! Our friendly administrator Hilda will greet you with the keys and begin your check-in. The space inside Condo Catalina can be described as simple, modern, clean, and relaxing. The giant floor to ceiling windows that face the beach and ocean are the biggest picture frame you could have! There is a private balcony with furniture to enjoy this view from. The beds are upscale as are the linens, provided by Alta Vista. The open floor plan allows for easy movement, relaxation, and enjoyment of the view. There are three individual a/c units to keep you cool. Most guests either choose to rent a car and drive from the airport to Alta Vista or take some sort of private transportation. I do not recommend local transportation; you'd be taking 3-4 buses! Just say the word and Hilda can help you make a reservation for a private shuttle van; we have a company that has been providing dependable service for almost a decade. They will meet you at the airport with your name on a sign and drive you approx. two hours to Alta Vista in a comfortable, air-conditioned van usually stocked with cold water and fresh fruit. The driver typically speaks enough English to get by. They will stop at a grocery store in Nicoya if you choose.

Hi! My name is Patrick, the owner. I designed and built this property with four condos in 2008. Ever since I've been managing them and making constant improvements to give you - the guest - a world class experience in the sleepy little beach town of Playa Samara. I handle all bookings and payments. Before your stay I introduce you to Laura, the administrator, who will meet you on-site with your keys to present the Condo and staff to you and answer all your questions. It's this type of extra service that makes out guests feel special and continue to book with us. Denis is the on-site caretaker who keeps the property spotless. He'll practice Spanish with you, help you get the grill going, and even source fresh-caught seafood and fish!

Treat the property as if it were your home. No pool or Congo Lounge access after 10pm. No smoking inside the unit. Be mindful of other guests. No pets. Zorro is my dog, a small terrier who is on-site mascot of the property, who keeps Denis the caretaker company. Please do not let him in your condo and please do not feed him or let him off the property. Please be mindful of turning off the air conditioning when you are not in the condo and do not run the a/c with windows or doors open.

Why can't I call the property manager before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I view and manage my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to view all your booking details, pay the balance of your holiday or cancel it if you need to.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

We’ll automatically charge the balance payment to the same payment method 10 days before it’s due. Go to Manage my holiday booking to see when the payment will be taken.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact the property manager to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send the property manager a message.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
