About This Listing
A big home among the mango trees.
The Space
Jayaru’s is a big place. Amidst a huge mango tree filled garden a maximum of 10 guests can stay in its 4 rooms (3 triples and 1 single), each with attached bathroom. Guests share a nice open area where they can enjoy their meals in a cooling breeze.
Interaction with Guests
Mr. Jayaru lives in separate quarters of the same house, together with his kids and wife - a music teacher at a local school - so there’s plenty of music to be heard around this house. Upon request, food, transport and activities can be arranged by Mr. Jayaru.
The Neighborhood
Tucked away in the North-Eastern corner of the Cultural Triangle, Polonnaruwa is one of Sri Lanka’s most important ancient cities. It is also the least travelled to, but if you’re looking for a well-preserved, ancient, beautiful, clean and green cultural heritage site, Polonnaruwa is where you should go. Also go if you like monkeys, ‘cause the site is full of them. Quirky thing about Polonnaruwa is that it’s becoming measurably colder due to global warming… a welcome change for once.
