Our family and dog friendly spacious and comfortable 4 bedroom self catering holiday cottage sleeps 1 - 8 people + travel cot is situated in a quiet location just a couple of minutes walk from Porlock village centre in the heart of Exmoor National Park.

Features include breathtaking sea views, log burner and 4 poster bed, super-king bed. The large secure private garden and patio is ideal for dogs and children has seating for 8 and BBQ. Piano.

Spacious lounge-dining room equipped with log burning stove, comfortable leather lounge furniture; SMART TV; extending Laura Ashley dining table comfortably seats 8 people.

The property as listed here is Exmoor Holidays which is a large 4 bedroom house (listed elsewhere as a Maxwelton 3 bedroom house and Bracken 1 bed apartment).

Bedroom 1: Super-king bed with beautiful garden views. Can accommodate travel cot if required

Exmoor Holidays offers the perfect peaceful retreat to relax, unwind and explore the stunning Exmoor coastline and countryside by car, bicycle, horse, Landrover safari or on foot. Numerous footpaths including the South West Coast Path and Coleridge Way accessible from our doorstep.

The charming traditional village of Porlock is very friendly with a strong community spirit and hosts many events to suit all ages throughout the year. There is an excellent selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants locally, many of which are dog friendly.

Bedroom 4 is on the ground floor of the property with a kitchen and a separate ground floor lounge/dining room.

On booking your holiday with us you will be given information on local activities in case you wish to pre-plan and book in advance of your stay. Details regarding location and gaining access to the property will be sent to you in the week prior to your arrival. There is a key safe by the front door to enable you to have a flexible arrival time and you can arrive any time after the check in time of 4 pm. Instructions on using the key safe will be emailed in advance of your stay. Our housekeeper lives immediately next door and is the first point of contact in the unlikely event that you experience any problems during your stay.

Dogs: We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs subject to dogs being fully house trained by prior arrangement. (No puppies or incontinent dogs). Additional charge £25 per week 1 dog, £35 for 2 dogs. Dog not to be left unattended in the property. Dogs not allowed on furniture. Owners must take full responsibility for picking up dog mess and depositing it in the dog bin 1 min walk down the road. Dogs to be treated for fleas and worms prior to arrival.

What a lovely place. Accommodation was great, comfy beds, beautiful views, gorgeous living room. Porlock is a great place if you like walking, good pub food and friendly people.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jacquie (the owner) a message.

If Jacquie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
