El Solei is a beautiful villa located in Puig-Surís, in a quiet, safe and sunny neighbourhood with breathtaking mountain views. Situated only 2 km. from Banyoles lake, 15 km. from Natural Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone, 35 km. from the magnificent Costa Brava beaches, 25 km. from the Girona International Airport and 115 km. from Barcelona city.

The house is suitable for a group from 8 up to 14 people. It's a spacious house with 5 bedrooms (one is adapted for handicapped people), three bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room - dining room with TV, TV satellite, DVD, air conditioning, fireplace, wifi access,...

Outside there is a big garden of 1.000m2 with swings and a slide for children, garden furniture, a little wooden house with an inside kitchen for children, a climbing wall, basketball and a tenis table, a large wooden covered porch with barbecue which is ideal for eating outside all year round, an enormous private swimming-pool of 10x5m with saline treatment exclusively for you, you haven't to share it and there are 12 sun beds in the swimming-pool area.

The house is perfect for your holidays with friends, with family or for meetings, celebrations, birthdays ... or simply to rest and relax.

SOME ACTIVITIES:

CYCLING HOLIDAYS: Life looks different when you're sitting on a bicycle: everything takes on the right speed and you become part of a landscape in motion. In El Solei there are lots of kilometres of routes and roads ideal for cycling with the family or with friends, in complete safety, so that you can take in every stretch of the region as if yo were re-creating it each time you pedal. You set the speed when you're on your bike and the infinity of proposals available will adapt to it perfectly. Unique spots close to the sea or in the mountains, to find the complicity that comes to those who ride bikes. Besides, the house has got a specific enclosed patio to lock your bikes up.

HIKING: There are many routes from El Solei. They have trail markers and are organised in a network of loop trails, and hikers can adapt the route or the stages according to their requirements or level of preparation.

GOLF: The house is located 9km from Girona Golf. It's an 18-hole, par 72 golf course designed by the English architect F.W. Hawtree, seeded entirely with Penncross, the best quality grass for playing golf. A course that is entirely adapted to its natural surroundings, featuring an advanced sprinkling system using regenerated water from Girona's purification plant, and meeting the most up-to-date environmental standards. The top nine holes are extremely competitive – their design requires players to use all the clubs in their bags. The bottom nine are simply spectacular, with all the tees set atop walls built with Girona stone, offering impressive panoramic views of the fairways. It is a true pleasure to follow the flight of the ball towards its destination, and encourages many players to take out their woods.

Frommer's Magazine from US and National Geographic have published in October 2011 the Best Destinations of the World for 2012 which are Girona and the Costa Brava.

Energy saving

- The electrical energy supplied in the house comes from 100% sources of renewable origin.

- The appliances are with energy use A.

- The lighting both inside and outside are made with light bulbs and / or low consumption. In addition, the outdoor bulbs turn off automatically when there is daylight.

- The bedrooms have an automatic intelligent heating or air conditioning switch-off system with the window open. When the window closes, the air conditioning system restarts.

- Installation of 9 solar panels of 410w each for self-consumption.

Recycling

- We encourage the selective selection of trash in the following fractions: glass, paper, plastic and organic matter. There are different recycling bins in the kitchen and also in the BBQ.

Water saving

- Shower taps and artichokes have devices for water saving.

- Double discharge toilet cisterns.

Swimming-pool

- The water disinfection system is by a salt chlorinator which means that no chemicals have to be added to the pool water. In addition, it has positive benefits for sensitive skin.

Garden

- The garden of the house is a Mediterranean garden with trees and plants adapted to a temperate climate.

- The grass is able to withstand drought well in summer thanks to its root system.

- Automatic watering in the garden to avoid unnecessary water consumption.

Social policy

- We firmly believe in the local products, this is the reason we always try to buy our products from the local shops.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Raquel (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
