Please note that we have introduced strict COVID-19 cleaning & Disinfecting protocols in our cottage. These are described in our 'Terms & Conditions' and are there to protect you, our guest, and our staff from the virus.

This traditional stone built terraced cottage dating from the early 1880's is situated on Loch Leodamais in the centre of Port Ellen village. It has been extended and sympathetically modernised to a high standard. The original open beams have been retained as have various other features. There is a fully equipped modern kitchen, 3 bedrooms (2 double & 1 twin) sleeping up to six, a cot, a comfortable lounge area with log burning stove, a dining area with table seating for up to 6 and a high chair, FreeSat TV & digital entertainment systems, unlimited wifi and thermostat controlled oil fired central heating throughout. The village hotels, pubs, restaurants, shops, the Post Office and the Calmac ferry terminal are all within 5 minutes walking distance of the cottage. The beach and village green are across the road.Laphroaig, Lagavullin and Ardbeg distilleries are all within easy walking distance of the front door. We offer flexible arrangements from 4 to 7 nights at all times of the week. Due to our operating a COVID-19 related 2 day closeout period before and after each booking, we can only accept 2 or 3 night bookings where they slot between existing bookings. Interaction with guest

We charge an extra £45/night where the number of adult guests exceeds 5. We charge an extra £5/guest for the use of our laundry facilities where the number of nights stayed is less than 4. In line with our COVID-19 protocols, we operate a Key-Safe system. The Key-Safe is located at the front door entry to the cottage. Guests are given the Key-Safe pin code before arrival. We also ask guests to strip the beds they have used and to put the bedclothes together with all towels (bath, hand, kitchen and bathroom) and bathmats into the zipped plastic bags provided by us. Please be reassured that our cottage is COVID-19 protected. We try to ensure the safety of our guests and our staff at all times.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send John (the owner) a message.

If John (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
