NEW - massive £200 discount for COUPLES, available all year round apart from school holidays.
DOG-FRIENDLY cottage set in an 'area of outstanding natural beauty' on our own working farm. Stylish and comfortable. Right on the coast in wonderful North Cornwall with our local town the famous PADSTOW.
WALKERS: our land borders the South West Coastal Path. Head west for the breathtaking BEDRUTHAN STEPS, or east for the awe inspiring TREVOSE HEAD: the views are incredible.
GOLFERS: we are only a mile from TREVOSE GOLF CLUB. It has 18 and 9 hole links courses. The views over Constantine bay are beautiful.
BEACH LOVERS: there are so many golden sandy beaches to choose from, and they are all DOG-FRIENDLY. Our local beach PORTHCOTHAN Bay is an 8 minute walk. It has a fabulous natural swimming pool at low-tide. Whether you love to swim, surf, go rock-pooling, build sandcastles or just breath in the ozone, this is the place to be.
CYCLISTS:the CAMEL TRAIL is a 10 minute drive away. It runs all the way from Padstow to Bodmin Moor via Wadebridge. Easy bike hire at the trail. Absolutely astounding scenery: the stretch that runs alongside the estuary faces the golden sands of Rock. The inland stretch is so tranquil with water courses a plenty.
GASTRONOMERS: you are about to enter foodie heaven. Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant is in Padstow, as is Paul Ainsworth's (trained by Gordon Ramsay) No 6. Nathan Outlaw with his 2 Michelin stars is at Port Issac. Or just down the coast at Watergate Bay is Jamie Oliver's 15. Treat yourself to some seriously good wining and dining. And talking of wine - don't miss the WINE TASTING at Camel Valley Vineyard.
DOGS: we love you and you are warmly welcomed. You can walk wherever you wish on our land, you'll love the coast path and the beach, and the views are incredible. There is a nice patio for you to lie around in, all enclosed. Hopefully you have trained your owners to clean up after you, and keep you on a lead when our sheep are near. We trust you don't mind staying downstairs and off the furniture. Some people don't love dogs as much as we do.
THE COTTAGE
THE COTTAGE!
Crigg is a quirky and quaint gem of a place. It is a semi-detached farmworkers cottage, now tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard with pretty fabrics and soft colours.
Upstairs are 2 double bedrooms (1small) and a spacious twin room. The beds are super comfy. There is a family bathroom, with double-ended bath and handheld shower over it. Ceilings are open-pitched, high and beamed giving an airy tranquil feel.
Downstairs is a cosy sitting room with squashy surround sofa, and a lovely wood burner for special nights in. There is a wet room with shower, perfect for coming straight in off the beach. A utility room with washing machine. A fitted oak dining room in the style of a pub snug, leading into a super kitchen with beautiful granite work tops. Usual mod cons such as microwave and dishwasher.
The kitchen opens out into the garden which is large, stone-hedged, and gated - perfect for dogs and children. There is a BBQ and outside seating on the large patio, as well as a big expanse of grass. When there are waves, you can hear the ocean.
At the back of the cottage are off-road parking spaces.
AMENITIES
We are close to local amenities with a pub at the end of the road, a proper village called St Merryn a 5 min drive away (pubs, restaurants, garage, bakers, newsagent, surf shop and hire, convenience store, takeaway, fish 'n' chip shop), and our local town of Padstow 5 miles away with supermarket. If you want to do your SUPERMARKET SHOP online, Sainsbury, Tesco, Asda all deliver to PL28 8PN. Minimum hassle...maximum relaxation for your holiday.
In the high season the small campsite run by our family has a bar which serves food, a shop, and a play park which you are welcome to use. There is fun family entertainment most nights in the summer school holidays too.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: As well as being in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, never mind Cornwall, we are lucky enough to have NEWQUAY AIRPORT 10 minutes away. Leave the car at home and immerse yourself in tranquility. We are on the Newquay - Padstow Western Greyhound bus route too, so you can go exploring this beautiful county, while someone else does the driving.

Further details outdoors
The cottage is semi-detached. My lovely in-laws live next door - a real 'old school' Cornish farmer and his wife. The garden is entirely yours, as Grampy and Granny have their own around the side.
We are on a road, but it is a quiet country lane with a 30mph speed restriction. There is plenty of off road parking.
There is a campsite opposite. It is run by our family, and only accepts families and couples. No rowdy groups allowed. We have not had any issues with noise so far.
